CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Disagree -- I would never support that holiday. there should be no need for it. people should celebrate love every day of the year rather than just on feb 14. ridiculous.

AGREEEEEEEEEEE, I am so sick of kids not even realising the real reason behind Christmas. I actually had to explain it was the birth of Jesus to a 30 year old woman once, she never knew, she always thought it was just about santa and getting presents, it is a really sad sad thing, that we care more about getting a present than we do about the birth of the man that saved our lives.

LOL!!!! I don't like what he has done with America but I think it would be great fun to wear a Bush/Cheney t-shirt to a coffeehouse or hostel or other place many non-American and/or liberal citizens hang out. I don't want to cause trouble but I think that would be fun! (I agree!)

Disagree. If people quit standing behind parties then i believe that we would have more honest politicians because they couldn't hide behind their party.
