  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Disagree. I've been reading my Bible for over 30 years. But, I stopped feeling the need to read it every day when I started knowing it by heart.

A/D? you've studied Bible versions comparitively to see for yourself how much they differ from one another.

(Can you grow vegetables in Alaska??? And is that a daft question?)

Not a daft question at all! Alaska often has World Record sized vegetables because of the amount of sun in the summertime (often over 20 hours of daylight!) ... and in the summertime, in much of the country, it's warm enough to grow vegetables. The Alaska State Fair is a showcase every year for farmers to show their accomplishments. Not uncommon: 35 pound (13 kg) broccoli, 10 pound carrots, 75 pound cabbage, 500 pound pumpkins... freakishly huge vegetables!!!

Anyway.... I do prefer God's Word, so long as it's as true to the original Greek & Hebrew as possible. I'd prefer reading novels over something like an Amplified Bible or New Living Translation but if it's a version that's more faithful to the inspired Word of God, then that's my favorite thing to read!!!
