It is pretty much the only way to earn anyone's respect as an adult, and to provide for a family without being stressed out about making ends meet every second. When I was your age, I used to think it wasn't all that important. But, being the age I am, I can honestly tell you, I was wrong. It is. Monumentally important. And don't let anyone or anything tell you differently. They're not on your side.
