Age Differences

You know, it's interesting. If you were 19 and he were 23 few would bat an eye, but it's interesting to see the reactions if the woman is older. I'm only two years older than my boyfriend (I'm 25, he is 23), but I've heard enough about it to last quite a while. If the age gap were reversed, I doubt anyone would have said a word.

Ive almost a 2 decade difference in my marriage. (Im the older)
Shes more mature than most 40ish year olds Ive met.
Shes my best friend, my companion, my equal.

22/36?
I say if the two love each other then go for it.

It's interesting though. She's four years older than this guy and I bet she gets flak over it, but a woman 15 years younger than a man doesn't hear a word.

Not that either one ought to be hearing about it, but oddly enough, larger age gaps are considered more acceptable as long as the man is older.

Yes, age matters -
1. Age is often related to issues of maturity
2. Age is often related to life situations and experiences
3. Age can matter because of the law!


But, yeah, the "gap" can widen as we get older...
A 19 year old guy dating a 13 year old girl? HUGE QUESTION MARK THERE!
A 29 year old guy dating a 23 year old girl? No problem.
A 49 year old guy dating a 43 year old woman? What age difference?



I'm 17 and dating a girl 2 years older than me.
At our age, 2 years is an issue probably, but not significantly so.
Probably a tad unusual in that she's the older one.
AND it was kind of a factor just at first only because those two years meant two years more of guy/girl relationships for her!

But we're both juniors in college (albeit now different colleges - about 20 minutes apart). We're both very strong, positive Christians - in fact, both PK's (Pastor's kids). I think I'm mature for my age. It's working.

Not that either one ought to be hearing about it, but oddly enough, larger age gaps are considered more acceptable as long as the man is older.

I've heard flack for it, its not that when the man is older that the relationship is exhempt from flak. I am 18 years younger than my husband. I do agree tho that it tends to be "more" (tho not much more!) acceptable for the husband to be a lot older rather than the wife to be a lot older.
