Age Differences...

Has anyone ever dated someone more than ten years older than you? I have emailed someone back and forth about twice so far and he is 54 and I am 39. He seems nice enough but something inside says don't go there he's too old.

When I look at some of the relationships in the bible, the men were a lot older than their wives. I wonder if there's something to that. Any thoughts?

My mom is 18 years younger than my dad. Both on their second marriage.

Drawback: She acts as old as the person she's with. Not to be mean or anything, but sometimes I think she forgets she's 18 years younger.

I dated a guy 11 1/2 years older.
He was a little sensitive about his age and still being single.
We got along just fine.
We did not end up marrying but we are still good friends.
It really depends on the two people as to whether age is a problem or not.
I know a number of folks with a large age difference.

I am a guy, and I dated a gal that was 11 years OLDER than me. NOT a good idea. Of course, I was 22, and she was 33. She tried her hardest to turn me away from my family. It was not a very good time in my life. She knew how to push my buttons I guess. But, that is just me. I think it just depends on the people. Everyone is different.

Wow that's something I never thought of. I definitely *feel* a heck of a lot older than I am and I've always gotten along better with people who are older than me so I guess I must act older than my age too!!

I can't imagine why anyone, woman or man, would want to try and steer someone away from their family....unless their family did not approve. Looks like you're out of a bad situation!

I've never dated anyone 10 plus years older than me and I can't see it happening in the future either primarily because of desires to have a family/children.

YES...I AM DEFINITELY OUT OF THAT SITUATION. THAT WAS 11 YEARS AGO. LOL. I AM JUST A LITTLE MORE MATURE NOW THAN I WAS AT 22. I KNOW THAT I DONT WANT TO GO BACK TO THAT AGE AGAIN. BUT ITS OK AS LONG AS YOU LEARN SOMETHING FROM YOUR PAST RELATIONSHIPS.

I had the oppourtunity to go out with someone 10 years older than myself. She did not look older, but something inside kept telling me to stay away. She was even attractive too. Sometimes, I think you just to be obedient to what you feel inside.
