  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'd like to hear people's thoughts on the first chapter of my historical novel, but I don't feel free to post it here, where it's free for all to see. If anyone would like to read it, please PM me and I'll send it to you. :)

Here's the summary so you know what it's about.

When Hitler's invasion shatters two teenaged Polish girls' peaceful lives, their destinies are thrown together. Tirzah, a shy Jewish girl, must rely on Heidi and her family to feed and shelter her and her growing family. But Hitler is determined to destroy all the Jews and the penalty for hiding Jews is death. More Jews arrive, begging for refuge and Heidi and her family bravely take them in. But one cold November night, their lives once again spin out of control. Both girls and their families must flee for their lives in the dead of winter, with the Nazis in close pursuit. Can they make it out of the country alive?
