  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

hello again,
i want to ask for some advise. my kitten is about 3 to 4 months old .
i live in apartments and i let her out twice already. the first time she was out for a while , untill i opened the door , then she came running and crying back home. the nextime was tonight, but she did not want to come in. i had to go chse and grab her. i want her to be an indoor cat, and never wandering too far, or not comming back. i have only had her for a week. did i let her out too early? or what should i do to keep her to be home more than be outside? should i wait till she's older or....????????????????? does anyone have advise?

Is there any particular reason you want to let her out?

I have two indoor cats, which we never let outside, and they're perfectly happy that way. There have been a few occasions where my male cat has sneaked out of the house but he never goes more than three feet from the door, because he's simply not used to being outside, and it scares him to be out of the house. but I digress hehe.

if you intend to let her be an indoor/outdoor cat like yougr post seems to suggest, then my advice would be to wait about a month or two, so she'll get used to her surroundings inside and come to see that as home, and then slowly introduce her to the outside world.

From the age of 2-9 weeks, cats need to be socialized. During that time it is good to expose them to many different things, so thay they become well-adjusted animals.

I took a class that taught about socialization, but that was a couple of years ago. I can't remember a lot. I'm sure if you did a search for cat socialization, you can find out more.

thank you so much for the advise . the reason i wanted her to go out was only to go and eat grass ,i think it helps them with their stomach but if i don't have to let her out i rather not. i do live in big appartments and theres alot of mean animal haters. i would really like my cat to be affraid to go out like yours little_tigress.
