I've been praying a lot lately asking God to show me what he has planned for my life. I can't seem to quit thinking about getting involved in a christian ministry. Is this God talking to me? Or leading me in the way I should go? Also any advice on how to do that cause I'm not sure.

MeganJ0310-

If you want to get involved in the ministry, you should begin by volunteering for activities involving the church where you attend. They're always looking for volunteers to help, especially with the children and adolescents. It will also give you hands-on experience with interrelating with people of various personalities, a necessary precursor to greater involvement in any type of ministry you might choose to get into later.

We understand, but go slow. You have written that you're still waiting for your baptism to be arranged, so you need to "settle in" for awhile as a Christian who's growing in the faith before taking on too much. Harry's suggestion strikes me as a very good place to start.

Dear MeganJ0310. Perhaps I have already given you this advice, sorry if I have, but to use Love as your weapon is always a winner. Jesus Himself tells us in Matthew 22: 35-40: " The first and great Commandment is Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it: Love thy neighbour as thyself." God is Love and God wants Loving children/sons and daughters. Jesus will give us His Love and Joy, and the Holy Spirit will empower us with His Love, also. ( Matthew 7: 7-8) Keep asking God and thanking God, then sharing all Love and Joy with our neighbour. God will bless us, and the people around us will treat us the same.
Love is very catching. When we stumble or forget at times, we ask God to forgive us, and carry on Loving and Caring. It is straightforward and easy to remember. We will be sign-posts to God our Heavenly Father.
Jesus will help and guide us, JESUS IS THE WAY. We follow Jesus and trust Him to lead us wherever God wants us. God knows our hearts, and God knows
our innermost wishes.
We might stumble or forget sometimes, but then we ask God to forgive us, and carry on Loving God and our neighbour: all we know and all we meet.
I say this with love, Megan. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.

Our enthusiasm after finding Christ can be compelling. But that does not mean 'ministry' will be our long term outlet. We do have dualistic concepts of sacred/secular; full time/part time; the spiritual/natural as different realms where the first trumps the second. Those divisions are not really biblical and can obscure seeing serving God is wider contexts.

I set out early in my life, after considering bible training for ministry, to discover how I can live out a fruitful Christian life as an 'ordinary' person involved inwork, family, society and church. It has been an exciting, informative, deeply satisfying journey, and I have learned thing sand seen things happen that many 'full time' people have never experienced. Some have come to me for some help, teaching and advice die to what I have learned and experienced.

Sounds very good to me since you say you've been praying a lot lately asking God to show you what He has planned for your life. Of course, He is calling you to serve Him and others.

The thing is to wait and see in what way, where, and when. You can begin in little ways by volunteering in church, etc. Because usually this is how you gain more understanding of the Ways of the Lord and learn to accept authority given to leadership. You should be attending church to worship God, reading the scriptures and even better if in a good bible study with others.

In time you will discover what your gifts are although that doesn't necessarily mean a lot of experience. God equips in various ways to serve when He is calling someone to serve Him. But others, especially those in leadership, will, in time see your gifts and confirm the path God is leading you to follow.

I truly believe everyone has a ministry (that is, a way to serve) and God is calling us to do that in His Word.

Mainly His call is to "love others as I have loved you." With a loving frame of mind and a willing heart, and a steady commitment things will become clearer and clearer to you. Keep praying. It is always the thing to do daily whether you are a beginner or anywhere on your Christian journey. It is what we are all called to do.

peace and prayers :prayer:

Jobwise, you don't really need to look for a change unless you're working in a sin industry or your work situation is literally cornering you into sin or severely taxing your family. Most of the time, all that needs to change for us jobwise isn't what we do, but how we do it. What we need to focus on is what God would have us do today, and trust him with the grand scheme of things. The Spirit leads us one step at a time, after all. And recent converts are not to be given significant positions or responsibilities, since that provides a temptation to arrogance, which is a trap of the enemy (1 Timothy 3:6). You should therefore learn to live for God as much as you can where you are right now, though if your present position is an extremely bad one, you can change it (1 Corinthians 7:17,21).

That's right.

Jesus gives each believer his or her own spiritual work to do (Mark 13:34, Romans 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 12:28-30; 1 Corinthians 12:8-10). And Jesus gives different believers different amounts of spiritual talents (Matthew 25:15). So it's not possible for all believers to do the same spiritual work for Jesus, or to accomplish the same amount for him. And so any one believer shouldn't judge any other believer for not doing the same spiritual work that he or she's doing, or for not accomplishing as much as he or she's accomplishing (Romans 14:4). Nor should any believer think that the spiritual work that Jesus has given him or her is unnecessary and not a real part of the operation of the church (1 Corinthians 12:14-30). But there's still no room for complacency, because for those believers who have been given much spiritual talent by God, much will be required of them by God (Luke 12:48b). And for those believers who haven't been given as much spiritual talent by God, they're still expected to accomplish something for him, and not sit back and do nothing at all for him (Matthew 25:26,30, John 15:2a, Romans 2:6-8).

Also, Jesus isn't a hard taskmaster. He will never give believers more work to do for him than they can easily bear (Matthew 11:28-30). So if believers ever get stressed out that Jesus is asking them to do too much, it's not Jesus asking them to do whatever is stressing them out (Luke 10:40-42). They need to take a step back and ask Jesus what particular spiritual work he's actually asking them as individuals to do (Mark 13:34, Romans 12:6-8).
