Advice regarding pursuing a calling

Dear my brothers and sisters,

I would like to hear some advice in how to pursue my calling. Perhaps some of you have similar experience, I would like to hear how you navigated through it.

I have been going through a long discernment process, and it was confirmed that God gave me gift of teaching and public speaking (inspiring). I received the confirmation either from several people (my pastor, fellow Toastmasters, and also the congregation who attended my half-day seminar). I received seminary training, and currently pursuing Spiritual Direction program. My daily job is an Engineer.

Originally I thought He would want me to be a Christian motivational speaker, which I plan to do full-time after I retire. However, I sensed that He wants me to do something sooner. I just don't know where or how to start, as there seems no door is open yet. I am OK to wait, but there is this persistent calling inside.

I am looking forward to hear your experiences and advice in this matter.

If it's a calling from God doors will open to your pathway. If not they will shut. Been there done that, every pathway seemed to shut and seriously shut ( was considering being a pastor but the calling was of me not God). He has me doing little witnessing and such where I won't ruin someones life !

Thanks Carl, but it's hard for me to go on short term mission service with my family situation now.
Also, are you talking about a "dry run", serving with my gift on mission service?

What is this?

Hi Maria, I guess people just use umbrella term of "Christian speaker."
In my speech, I speak from the heart and connect with the audience by being honest and vulnerable, and I received feedback saying that they can truly connect and relate, and also inspiring.

So, it's not really a sermon per se, that's why I call it "motivational." I don't know if there is a proper term for it.

Bring everything before God, even to His Throne , in prayer and praise,
and
ask Him for His Truth in all matters, in everything. In the Light. Everything.

Daily, frequently, continually as He Guides in line with All His Word.

Did you see where in Scripture God does not answer all prayers ? (Who He says He does not even hear the prayers of, ever )
i.e. 'they' can ask, and ask, and ask, and keep on asking, and never receive ,
and God Says why..... in His Word.....
