advice needed

I havent been on this forum for a while but wondered if anyone can help.
I cut myself last September but it never scabbed etc or healed. I think i probably should have gone to the drs about it as it was quite deep.
Now it is raised, like a keloid scar i suppose. But it is very painful.

Is there anything i can do

Dear Michelle, I just got over the same thing. Ironically it wasn't from cutting but a spider bite but that is besides the point. Anyway, usually when it looks like that, it is infected. It is very painful and it bulges out. If it gets bad enough you will have to get it lanced so please go to the doctor. I had to put this cream on it and take a big pill which I am still doing. It feels a lot better but if it gets bad the only way to get rid of it is to get it lanced. Lily00

Call the docter soonest... and GO to the docter. I had an aweful bite on my leg that I scratched off (in my sleep maybe..) anyway it took a long time to heal. Put a hot as you can handle clean wet washcloth on it until it cools, two or three times a day until you get to the doctor and he/she tells you what to do. Put bacitracin (antibactierial ointment) on it often as well. ~Kait
P.S. the hot water should be only as hot as your hand can stand without going red... or hurting..

If it's pink and warm (and hurts), then it's infected. The infection can spread quickly up your arm, and within hours or days get into the bloodstream.

Put some germ-killers on it now (mercurocrome, neosporin, antibiotics) or at least let it run under water...otherwise you'll need penicillin and maybe a tetanus shot. Take the infection seriously now, because you won't have the energy if it spreads.

i have a keloid scar too... andthe nurse toldme to rub cocoa butter on it. but if it is infected, you should see a doctor first, worry about the scar later.
