I have two adopted children. And we have fostered three others.

I'm surprised the rate of adoption is so low per OP article

local church had a former Pastor who encouraged adoption
they had an adoption group that we attended few times

an article in the paper stated over 100 families from that church adopted children!

if only other Pastors encouraged adoption

My cousin was adopted as a baby. I didn't know till I was grown. We played together growing up. Doesn't make a difference to me. I still see her as the same from before I knew.
