  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How do you decide which agency to use? Do you do all your research online? What are some things to look for?
We are planning to adopt from China and can start our adoption this summer. I'm so excited, but don't want to use the wrong agency. We've got most of the money saved up. Should we pay it all upfront or stick to the payment plan? I don't know much about it, because I haven't done much research up until now, because looking into it gets me to excited and impatient, and couldn't deal with that before I was 29.5...
Thanks for any help!

We did a lot of research and still ran into trouble with a supposedly "reputable" agency- I PM'd you about that. We had two great adoptions with other agencies, Living Hope in Pennsylvania, and WACAP in Washington State. Living Hope is a Christian agency, WACAP isn't, if that matters. Loved them both, would use WACAP in the future because LH only does China, and we have 4 kids and aren't qualified for China, not even special needs due to income requirement. Our two youngest are both special needs adoption, and if you're flexible about age and gender, have decent health insurance, I'd recommend looking into a waiting child adoption.

If you have questions, feel free to PM me.

Our Chinese adoptions went as smoothly as international adoptions could, both inside the US and when we got to China.

Praying for you and your little one.
