  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Every time I open my Bible, I feel comforted. It's a cheaply made Bible; it's been a few days and it's starting to fray. We're going out for a few drinks tonight and I'd rather be studying the word..

When I'm not reading it, it's probably somewhere nearby.

I love it.. And I also very much like the ESV, this being my first one after a KJV.

Email yourself a few Scripture chapters at a time so you always have something on your smart phone to feast from while sitting around...esp. in bars.

My only beef with the ESV translation is a lot verses of Scripture have been deleted.

That is true. The scriptures that I looked into concerning that were usually additions not found in majority of manuscripts. Either, they can be found identically in other places in the scriptures, or they were put in the footnotes.

I'm not an expert on this, but for the record I do keep a KJV around as a standard.

Yes it does. I have it on my droid device. It is 100% free to!

Got it, pretty nice. One of the related apps is a treasury of Spurgeon, do want. :)

Do you know if it works on android? I'll check it out, thank you.

I don't know if you use Logos Bible Software, but they have a free Android app: Logos for Android - Logos Bible Software

I believe it works in conjunction with their Biblia.com site.

I would give more info, but to be honest, I've never had a cell phone with android...I have been lagging behind the times concerning phone technology for a long time.

Nice, I grabbed that one as well. Thank you.
I was the same way with cell phones. They're useful, but you will become dependent on them within a few days lol.

My favorite Bible app is Tecarta (I use android). Easy to navigate quickly in church and small groups. I also keep the Bible on my Kindle app.

I know what you mean by being addicted to Scripture. I like to play Bible audio on low volume, random chapters, when I go to bed and last night I dreampt Bible :boredsleep:

Now that would be an experience. I tend to have nightmares when I'm really studying scripture. It's almost an indication that I'm in a good spiritual place, but I can't explain it.

Will check out Tecarta tomorrow.
