Look at the text. The Serpent said this in context with eating the fruit. If humans eat it, they will not die. They did not die because of eating the fruit, but because God sentenced them to death. The Serpent said this statement before God revealed His plan for judgement(eg death) so the statement is not a lie at this point in the text as there is no way humans are going to die from eating the fruit without an outside influence, which, I think, is what the Serpent means.

They are going to die because God said they would earlier. They had not eatten from the tree of life. Lies are often half truths, but are trying to lead you astray.

People seem to think the Serpent was a scoundral and a lier. Why? Give me any textual evidence that suggests this. The Serpent gave us wisdom in which we could begin to think for ourselves and develop phsycologicaly so that we may have a chance at achieving our full potential. God gave us death so that we never could.

Death is the way good people get to go home and be in an eternal close relationship with God and death is the way bad people quite doing bad stuff.
The problem is the Garden system for man to obtain Godly type Love is not workable. The better situation is sinning and allowing humans to accept God’s forgiveness (Love) and thus Love. (He that is forgiven much will Love much…) Once we have as a result of a free will decision to accepted God’s Love we can go on to be with God in heaven or we can have the privilege and honor of serving others here on earth to help them see, experience, share and accept God’s Love and grow our Love.

They were not even ashamed until they sinned.. Shame comes from sin..They were all God created them to be until the serpent came and lied to them.. Then sin entered in and they knew sin..Which is the total opposite of God. Shame came..

Look at the concluding verses in Genesis 3:


21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

This symbolic act prefigured the sacrifice of Christ as a 'covering' for man's sins, and declared that God would redeem mankind from the eternal penalty of their aforementioned sin as well.

22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

Man had become like God only in that he now knew 'good and evil'; not that they had any other Godly attributes. It is clear (to me) that the serpent's next step was to convince Adam and Eve to eat of the tree of life, and so live forever in the same fallen state that he enjoyed. God had no intention of allowing this and so drove them out of the garden and away from what would have been the final destructive temptation.

23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.

Man was to live and die as mortal beings as God intended. God would fulfill his plan of "the restoration of all things" that he would speak of by the mouths of the holy prophets from that time forward.

24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Access to eternal life would be made available only when God had prepared man for it.

Where is your serpent measured into these events?

We know from Gen. 5 that God called both Adam AND Eve Adam and GOD BLESSED THEM on that DAY:

Genesis 5:
1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; 2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

We know "ADAM" was GODS son:

Luke 3:38
Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.

The day they were BLESSED was the day Gods Words were sown IN THEM. We know from Jesus what happens where Gods Words are sown:

Matthew 13:19
When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

Mark 4:15
And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

A most logical VIEW here is that on the day when the BLESSING was conferred on THEM, Adam and Eve, that SATAN entered also IMMEDIATELY to steal that Word from them.

We also know that Eve did NOT understand the COMMAND, which PROVES from the Matt. 13:19 citing that THE WICKED ONE was already at work IN HER HEART...having thereby ENTERED her:

Genesis 3:3
But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

Obviously God did not say that.

We know that SIN ENTERED Adam meaning it came EXTERNALLY from Adam and then INTO ADAM...

Romans 5:12
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned

We also know that 'THE LAW' is for THE LAWLESS:

1 Timothy 1:9
Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

We certainly should not be terming Gods son Adam as 'lawless.' IF The Word was sown IN him and SATAN then entered him AFTER the blessing from God...

THEN that LAW that came next is FOR THE LAWLESS one, SATAN who ENTERED Adam.

And of course it's all downhill from there because:

Romans 5:20
Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound.

And the offence DID then abound.

We also know that ALL SIN is intimately connected to THE DEVIL:

1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

The novice or untrained eye will NEVER see these connections BECAUSE that same working IS IN THEM and will NOT allow this to be seen.

Nope. They will BLAME God as our opening poster has been falsely led to do, and they of course and more commonly will blame ONLY Adam and Eve.

But very few will find that it WAS GOD who bound ALL MANKIND unto DISOBEDIENCE that is NOT THEM, but OF THE DEVIL in order to DEMONstrate DIVINE MERCY as a first hand encounter by USING devils...

Romans 11:
32 For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

So now you know THE GOOD NEWS!
