  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ge 3:

17 To Adam he said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, ‘You shall not eat of it,’
Adam ate the forbidden fruit, disobeying a direct commandment of God.

cursed is the ground because of you;
God cursed the ground, not Adam directly.

in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life; 18 thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field.
Adam would have to work hard to grow food as a farmer.

Ge 4:

2b Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, and Cain a worker of the ground.
Cain killed Abel.

10 The Lord said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying to me from the ground. 11 And now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.
God cursed Cain, not the ground directly.

12 When you work the ground, it shall no longer yield to you its strength.
Cain could no longer farm the land for food.

You shall be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth.”
He had to run away from his domicile.

16 Then Cain went away from the presence of the Lord and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden. 17 Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. When he built a city, he called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch.
Cain's descendants:

20 Adah bore Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock.
It seemed that Cain and his descendants raised animals as a living.

In the case of Adam, God cursed the ground, and Adam would have to work hard as a farmer. For Cain, God cursed him directly. He could no longer be a farmer, and he changed his job to raise animals.
