CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I know what the Holy Spirit refers to. You keep failing to actually describe how a person gets to a point, in your opinion, that they can perceive and understand the deeper meaning of the bible.

If I may.
You can't just cross over into the understanding of scripture on an intellectual basis. The indwelling kingdom of God is a parallel universe right here on earth. What the spirit-led believer knows is not available to unbelievers. That said this knowledge is not that complicated. The main thing is that the Christian is convicted by the knowledge and must act on it. Of course this is a gradual process that occurs over a lifetime. The individual Christian, and thus the church itself, is a continuous work-in-progress, which can be confusing even to some in the church.

1. I am vengeful, but not enough to wish agony upon the mentally ill, which his mother is. I am not sure if she has paranoid schizophrenia, or that many blows to the head over the course of her life made her this way, or if the abortion her mother forced her to get are what drive the insanity, but she's been through enough as it is.
2. Punishing the abuser doesn't undo the years of abuse they inflict upon their victims. He legitimately loves his mother and certainly would not want such a fate to befall her. How he has maintained such feelings I don't personally understand, but I see no reason for him to lie to me about it.
