Some have pointed out, the reason for Adam eating the fruit. It's true that he was right beside her when she was tempted, and ate the fruit. However, the fact of the matter is that the woman was deceived. Meaning, she would have eaten it sooner or later.
Adam, thus, didn't waste any time. He would not let her be alone, and he would not let her die alone. He did not deem life to be worthy without her.
It is also possible, that he knew the name of YHWH, and thus, His plan for salvation. So when the prophecy of the Seed came, he didn't waste any time there either, and named her Eve, the Mother of all Living.
