Yes, AV frequently abandons threads and arguments when he is forced on the defensive. When asked a direct question where an answer would reveal how idiotic his position is he tends to ignore it. Either that or he posts a random bible quote, which amounts to the same thing. He does this repeatedly.
1 Chronicles 26:18 At Parbar westward, four at the causeway, and two at Parbar.

So, AV, why don't you tell us about how jesus saved you? Why not let us examine your experience and see if we can't work out what happened?
John 3:1 ¶ There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Turns out we do know where wind comes from and where it goes. Yet again, Jesus was wrong. But maybe he said some other stuff that was kinda' right. Keep looking.

This is worth reigniting:

Can God create an object --- tomorrow --- such that it falls apart with age the next day?

Of course. So could a person. Not create the object ex nihilo or anything, of course, but one could make something that had a "lifespan" of 24 hours, and would thus "fall apart with age" the next day. Depends also on how you define "with age", and what constitutes aging.

But yes, God could absolutely do it. He kind of already has, if you consider the mayfly.

Then why are you an atheist?

Don't take me too literally when I say "He already did." I am merely entertaining your hypothetical through your position on God's existence, not my own.

In your own words, please, AV. Just tell us what happened to you. Then we'll see if we can't set you straight.

Jesus saved me and translated me into His kingdom.

Well, this is from his profile:

Personal Testimony - How I became a Christian
I had a void in my life that only God could fill, so He sent a bus worker to our house to set in motion a meeting between us that will now last forever! Praise the LORD!

Lol. That's excellent. A bus worker? I presume he means an intermediary or a go-between and not a baffled conductor. God sent a bus worker. "Hello, I have a message from god. He'd like to meet you, AV. He's checking up on his creation and feels that you need saving. It's an emergency. Will you be free at 5 o'clock next wednesday? Super. God will see you then. Good day." If only god could get his appointment diary fixed he could have us all booked in for a quick chat like he did you, AV.

I always cringe when people say they have a relationship with god or jesus. It's sort of creepy when an adult admits to having an invisible friend. But from an evolutionary psychology viewpoint it's fairly easy to understand. It's funny really, but AV's profile is almost a textbook example of the evolutionary roots of where religion came from. His own faith is proof of the way homo sapien's brain's evolved. How ironic that he could justifiably be used as a poster boy for everything he denies so vehemently. You've gotta laugh.

I think this is mean spirited and will only discourage AV or anyone from being open with us. I mean, you had just asked him a couple of times to tell us about his conversion and when you find out what it is, you mock him; definitely not the best way to build trust or a conducive relationship.

I've seen the full story before, and it's much more in-depth and detailed than that quick blurb would suggest. And it's not some whacky thing that happened, according to his account. It was a series of events that occured during a particular time of his life, and it lead him to Jesus. Whether you or I place any weight in the story is irrelevent, because it is meaningful for him, just like many other similar stories are to the people who tell them.

Asking for his story just to ridicule it without getting the whole story wasn't necessary, nor even relevent to this thread.

And you say you're a Christian, why? Having a relationship with God is fundamental to the Christian faith, and in fact it is fundamental to nearly all religions to connect with [God].

It's not only fundamental it's absolutely necessary, it you can't convince yourself how can you ever expect to convince anyone else?
