Personally I really don't give it too much thought - if we spend too much time on those types of questions (the peas) then we are missing out on the best part (the steak) in my humble opinion.

I agree.

Predestination is an issue fought over during the time of the Reformation. Our time has other issues to fight over. We cannot understand why folks fought over predestination and free will. Yes, we bust up churches over the definition of a minor sacrament.

And yes, fighting over non-essentials diverts us from the Way, from focusing and following Jesus.

Thank you for helping me understand the overall mindset of Anglicanism. I knew they could be fairly tolerant of different biblical interpretations but I just wasn't sure if some groups were more specific than others.

The thread's gone cold by now, but it occurs to me that the Anglican Orthodox Church--usually thought to be the most LowChurch/Protestant of all Anglican bodies in the USA--did take a stand on this matter a few years ago and (as I recall) it was pretty much in accord with what "The Conciliar Anglican" argued (see post 18 for that link).
