I have an american accent, although I say some words in an indian accent! The only thing that I think is stupid is how people say "FRY-D" instead of friday! What the heck?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Even I can't identify them all, I can only really identify subtle differences in my own region's accents.

Do Ohio people have accents ? I know my mother in law does because she lives super close to PA and has a yinzer accent , but i dont think i do ..Sometimes southern twang comes out , why i got no clue ...I say Worsh instead of Wash , Pop vs Soda , Crick vs Creek....I dunno im middle of OHIO !! .........Soooo OH......IO (---Sorry huge Buckeye fan i flare my love for them everywhere

Says I have a Midland accent, but I was born on the east coast and lived in CA for from ages 5 to 23 years 
. I get made fun of for the way I talk no matter where I go though , because I say neIther and eIther and I pronounce the oos in roof like ˈru̇f. People are forever asking me where I am from for "not having ancent".

I have a very slight Western Pennsylvanian accent, which is a heterogeneous mixture of Northeast and North Midland idiosyncrasies. (When it's really thick you get something like: "Wen ya drife yer car, ya sit behyn't ta will". There's also the very charming "yinz guyz" and "Munt Wurshington".) I have, thankfully, avoided "Pittsburghese", which takes Western Pennsylvanian to a degree I can only describe as Urban Hick.
