• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Something that's really struck home lately is that despite what God wants for our lives and how He wants us to live we have freedom of will and people can make nasty choices. Just as He allows me to have freedom of will so do my abusers. Due to their selfish / ungodly choices, there has been a lot of suffering. How can I blame God for their bad choices / sin. For a long while now I have truly believed God is a good Father. He has intervened at many times guiding my life....maybe not as much as I would have liked at times but I do believe as the story of Joseph's life teaches. What they meant for evil / selfishness, God uses for good. He has and continues to help me heal and grow. I've heard others struggling with the issue of why bad things happen and I have struggled with it as well. I felt I should share this and I hope it helps to comfort whoever reads it. God bless.

Yes dear Colleen, the evil want to blame the Lord, the Comforter for his evil things and is a shame that today many believe satan's lies and that is what satan wants, that people to blame the Prince of Peace for satan's bad/ugly things.

But,there are also many which with an opened heart seek the Truth and reject satan's lies and choose to believe/understand the Truth.

May the Lord send comfort to all which read this and need comfort from the Comforter

It's okay for people to ask why and to try and process things. It's good for us to be understanding of peoples pain. ...and sensitive.
