  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So what determines how real something is... is how much opposition it faces?
Let me repeat: Show me a book, written by either a fairy or a Leprechaun, that currently has a nation built around it.

Then, having done that, show me within the pages of that book the history of this nation, prophesied in advance, and fulfilled with 100% accuracy.

(And this is just the easy part.)

Psh. Show me a god that does that.

Let me repeat:Show me a book, written by either a fairy or a Leprechaun, that currently has a nation built around it.

Well, there are many other nations built around religions that were written by other Gods. India, China, Japan, Australian Aborigines, Pacific Islanders, etc.

Then, having done that, show me within the pages of that book the history of this nation, prophesied in advance, and fulfilled with 100% accuracy.

(And this is just the easy part.)

Well, the Bible's prophesies are not 100% fulfilled. Some "prophesies" were never meant to come true, such as Ninevah's destruction. Some prosphesies have not come true yet, as I am not in the fiery lake as of this moment. Many religions have prophesies that they claim to have been fulfilled!

Show him a book already. Any book. It doesn't actually have to have fulfilled prophecies, have a nation built blah blah, etc. The Bible doesn't either.

But if assertions are enough in the case of the Bible, they are good enough for any book.

Oh wait, I do it already. Pick a book, AV. Any book:

Interesting. I didn't know we were that close on this. So, where I take it further, is extending the different state till after the flood, so as to make the flood a real possibility, basically. And I do have some scriptural reasons to do that.

About the new heavens, that is a good question. One I have not come to a satisfactory conclusion about yet.

It does seem that the millennium is strikingly similar to the pre flood time. A man that dies at a hundred years of age will be called a child, fast crop growth, etc!

If God had the one universe planned for Adam, and another is needed for the new Adam (Jesus), that is fine by me.

But I am not sure, of yet.

Great minds think alike!

Well, in our labs, when we run it through the "Scriptualization Ion Capture Mass Theotronic Detectors" we find the kundalinic vector of the Spiritons to be somewhat offset from what theory would predict.

I hope your research is ongoing. I think we all look forward to the next publication.

I especially liked the earlier discussions around having heaven-relations with Marilyn Monroe in the hypothetical transparent gold condominiums. I guess that's so everyone else in heaven can see who's getting to boink Marilyn at any given time in the New Heaven New Jerusalem Condos.

It does seem that the millennium is strikingly similar to the pre flood time. A man that dies at a hundred years of age will be called a child, fast crop growth, etc!

Don't forget flying cars! Those "scientists" were always promising us flying cars and I still drive around this crummy Yaris. Sheesh. Wanky wanky! Science clearly has failed completely.

If God had the one universe planned for Adam, and another is needed for the new Adam (Jesus), that is fine by me.

Me too!

But I am not sure, of yet.

Keep looking! I'd recommend a statisical design of experiments. Try a simplex lattice mixture design and double up on the center points. Then crunch the numbers and let's get some settlement on these important issues!

Great minds think alike!
Minds that are aligned to the Plan, and the Planner, seem to be closer to the maker, and further from the faker.

Like you have credibility?? Newsflash, watch this simple experiment, and exercise in busting, big time. Prove it, by showing the lab. Was it in L Livermore? Name the scientists and the funding? See, your would be cleverness, and wit, is handwaving nonsense, as always. Lurkers, have a chuckle, this one's on me. Cheers.

The issue is sex in heaven, there, and if you think you can neuter it, let's see you try! If there are kids, there, sitting with the lion, what, the stork brought them? The sons of god, in the past, thathad babies with daughters of men, what, storks bought them too? Get a grip. Get a case.

Don't forget flying cars! Those "scientists" were always promising us flying cars and I still drive around this crummy Yaris. Sheesh. Wanky wanky! Science clearly has failed completely.

We will be able to fly, with, or without a vehicle, such as what many might call a flying saucer. Jesus went up, up, up, and, no vehicle, at least on this side of the clouds observers could see!

Keep looking! I'd recommend a statisical design of experiments. Try a simplex lattice mixture design and double up on the center points. Then crunch the numbers and let's get some settlement on these important issues!

The future state of the universe, of course, as you suggest, is important. Not something we woulld want to try to fine tune with unbelievers, that really are of limited grasp of the issue, of course. No need to mix chemicals in a witch pot, to get these numbers. And, unlike your temporary state numbers, they are not pi in the sky! Work on that.

Except for the ones about the Nile River drying up, Damascus completely crumbling within the writer's generation, and Nebuchadnezzar conquering Tyre --- right?

You mean the Euphrates?
Revelation 16:12 said:
And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
And if so, what are you, a preterist?

Say what? Damascus doing something in a certain lifetime? Where might that be?

As for Tyre, what about it?

"Ezekiel 26:1-14 contains at least six prophesies regarding Tyre that have been fulfilled. These predictions are the following:
  1. Nebuchadnezzar would attack Tyre (v. 7-11)
  2. The city would be destroyed (v. 8-12)
  3. The rocks would be scraped into the sea (v. 4)
  4. Many nations would fight against the city (v. 3)
  5. Fisherman would spread their nets on the city (v. 5, 14)
  6. It would never be rebuilt (v. 14)
  7. '
http://www.apocalipsis.org/rev-tyre.htm

That is what came up when I googled. Do you think that Tyre won? Or that Alexander never scraped it, to build the causeway? etc?? Try to be clear.

Be amazed.

No, I don't mean the Euphrates, I mean the Nile.

Run away from that.

The whole passage clearly prophesied the sack and complete destruction of Tyre by Nebuchadnezzar. However, the vivid description of the sack and fall of Tyre never happened. After a siege of thirteen years, until 573BC, Nebuchadnezzar lifted his siege on Tyre and had to arrive at a compromised agreement. Thus Nebuchadnezzar did not destroy Tyre. Tyre was destroyed by Alexander the Great, 240 years later. And furthermore, despite the prophet, the city of Tyre was eventually rebuilt.

Google. Don't cry.

Run away from that.
Sure thing ---
Adam Clarke's Commentary said:
The Nile shall not overflow its banks; and if no inundation, the land must become barren. For, as there is little or no rain in Egypt, its fertility depends on the overflowing of the Nile.
Do you have any good study materials besides the ... um ... Internet?

Ooh! That sounds like a non-literal interpretation to me! Are you favoring a different translation other than the Angelic language of the AV1611?
This is an important breakthrough for you, AV.

The middle east is absolutely littered with the ruins of cities and empires. Pick one; predict its ruin; be a propher.

The Nile, like all rivers will go dry and disappear some day. Rivers are pretty ephemeral in a geological sense. Waiting for that one to go dry and fulfill a prophesy will be pretty boring.

I dont see any claim of biblical prophesy that is any better than nostradamus' predicitons. Vague, no time frame, and open to any interpretation.

In any case prophesy and its fulfillment seems contrary to the whole bit about how you have to have faith.

Evidence of flood carefully erased, no miracles performed anymore, etc etc...i if miracles and prophecy was done you dont need faith, or so I am told. is that so?
