  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I want to respond by pointing the error in your logic.

1 & 2 dividing a finite value by an infinite number of arguments leaves each argument having a value of zero.

It's not the argument that results in a zero value, but rather it's the result of trying to debate your finite value of Christianity, which does not automatically infer or imply that the argument is worthless because it doesn't, in your mind, refute the value of Christianity. In reality, both arguments have a finite value, which when divided will give a finite value.

So all arguments against Christianity are valueless.[/quote]

This should actually read; So all arguments against MorkAndMindy's belief in Christianity are valueless due to the fact that MorkAndMindy wont conceid anything that opposes that belief.

MorkAndMindy started off by asking what the net value of Christianity was, whether it be positive or negative, and then you went on a separate tangent and concluded that all arguement against Christianity have no value. So I ask you, which point are you trying to make? Is it that Christianity has a finite value? Or is it that any arguement against Christianity is pointless?
