Abscence from the stage

I have spent 4 years- absent from the stage. I haven't been in any production since 2000. I have auditioned a couple times last year- but got turned down at the local community theater. It made me upset... I hope I am not losing my gift, I believe I am really rusty... What can I do?

practise?? buy a few play books, and just read aloud, think of how you could play that character. Then you can use that as an Audition peice. It can only help to enhance your skills.
