I John 1:3: "That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ."
Truly our purpose in this forum should be to have that deeper fellowship with our God, and a closer walk with our Saviour. When we do that, we will be better able to go out and to declare those things we have seen and heard and learned to those who are lost and without hope: That we may lead them to a saving knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, in order to bring them to have fellowship with us.
This forum is an awesome opportunity to share and pray together and really Study in depth God's written Word to us. There have been several who have requested a thread devoted to Bible Study. Well here we have a whole forum. I think we need to get together and decide how to proceed in that direction.
I think it is important because, we are here on a trial basis and many object to this place even being here. Some have already suggested that there is no need for this place because the Devotionals Forum is already set up for this.
I suggest it is not. Obviously a deeper fellowship with God will entail a study of God's Word that goes beyond that of a devotional. There are several Pastors here, according to profiles, who should be willing to lead a Bible Study.
Perhaps there could be topical threads for study. Perhaps there could be threads on individual Book studies. Waterwizzard is a Pastor, I understand and Dave at least preaches some. Whether he is a Pastor or not, I do not know.
Perhaps others could lead us in studies on prayer. We have a moderator here, but perhaps we also need a leader of this forum. One who can set us a sort of informal agenda to follow. In which case I would certainly nominate GraftMeIn, because without her we would not even have this place.
To paraphrase Lyndon Johnson, I do not seek such a position nor would I accept it if offered. But I do sense a need for it, if we are to keep this forum here permanently.
What do you think?
