According to this verse there is heavenly spirits, not only the demons.
1 John 4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Do they can possess people like the demons, and give them power like the demons?

I am not an expert but I would caution against seeking power through spirits. Any spirit that would offer it is probably not a good one. However, there is a Jewish concept called an "Ibbur". According to the wiki, this is when a righteous soul needs a human vessel to complete an important mission. It's suggested they might possess you or direct you without you even knowing it. An example could be if you randomly do a kind action that you wouldn't normally have done. Maybe it was really them guiding that action.

There is deception in Christiandom. This verse is speaking to that. Humans also have a spirit that can engage with other deceiving spirits thus spreading a false Gospel.

In short no: the other spirits do not possess nor give powers to people.

Spirits: Angels or Demons

Angels = of God
Demons = not of God

Hebrew 1:14 "Are they not the angels all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?"

Matthew 4:11 "Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him."

Luke 22:43 "And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him."

If angels can minister to the heirs of salvation, then likewise, demons can as well but they minister for Satan's cause not God's.

2 Corinthians 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

So we must try the spirits, knowing whether they are of God--teaching and preaching God's word, or if they come appearing as minister's of righteousness but teach and preach Satanic doctrine.

In the passage you are referring to, John is not speaking of beings like angels and demons, but is using the word "spirits" more in the sense that we see in
1 Timothy 1:7 “God has not given us a spirit of fear.”

Obviously, in that verse, the reference is not to some incorporeal being but to false ideas taught by false prophets or teachers, etc.
