About sabbath keeping

Today I read Joshua 6 the story of the fall of Jericho. It is told that the Israelites compassed the city for 6 six days, then on the seventh day, the walls of the city tumbled and fell on the shout of the Israelites.

If these seven days were consecutive, then one of them must be Sabbath, so can I conclude that during war time, fights still could be carried out on Sabbaths?

I just read Joshua 6 and I can't see where there WERE any fights. In fact, it says the people were shut up and none came IN and none came OUT, so if there was fighting it would've been amongst themselves.

Scripture always shows that's there's a difference between doing God's work and "working". Jesus healed (and said it was lawful to do good on Sabbath) but there's no account of Him doing carpentry on that day. Did that make sense?

There is another aspect that must be considered and that is the fact that the Children of Israel were under a theocracy. It was God who gave the command to march around Jericho. If that required the CoI to march on the Sabbath it was at God's command therefore we can not apply that to current affairs.

I look at my expense report for my work, it says I worked 21 day in February. On the 11th day of work, certain expense incurred. I didn't work 11 straight days. I don't work on Saturdays and Sundays.

The wall fell on the 7th day (of the marching). So I don't think you can say for certain the Israelites marched on the sabbath day.
