So what is likely to happen now to anyone who has had no vaccination at all in contrast to the fully jabbed and boosted?

I assume the vaccines developed so far will have given our immune systems some ability to recognise this newly mutated invader as basically of the same type as the origin Wuhan Virus whereas the unjabbed person could be totally at it's mercy. The original problem was that our bodies have never encountered this virus so cannot recognise it to combat it. So the unjabbed has no real weapons.

It is mere conjecture of course, we will soon know once scientists have decided. Meanwhile we surely should protect ourselves with all available means being provided.

Viruses depend quite a lot upon changing their outer proteins which is what the body's antibodies rely upon the identify their target. Once the virus get inside one of your body's cells it is hidden from the body's antibodies. It's early days at this stage and there's a lot about this varient to find out about, before we can know just how bad this varient really is.

Often a new varient of a virus can become the dominant strain, but out competing with the earlier strains, because it is more infective. However if it's more infective, but less deadly it is not necessarily a worse problem for us. This new varient has certainly been spreading around the world very quickly in a very few days, but I an not aware of any reports in the media regarding the number of deaths so far.

If different governments reactions are anything to go by, I would suspect that there is something about this varient which is causing some concerns. Time will tell.

or it could just be that they are concerned in general sense we do not know much about this new one. So far from what I have most people have had what is basically a cold with this one not serious.

Vaccinations against one strain may be totally ineffective against another. The more people that become vaccinated the more likely it will be that the new dominant strains will be ones where the vaccine is ineffective. They would, after all be the fittest strains as others would be foiled by the vaccine. Therefore, they would be most likely to flourish. What we hope for is that as these viruses mutate, the strains will become less deadly. It is a possibility. Viruses that kill their hosts die out when they run out of hosts so AFAIK it is likely for strains to mutate to forms that will not be as fatal as that assures the continued viably of the virus. I would suggest that until the newest strains are less likely to cause death or people just decide that the risk is worth it, we will never have a return to normal as there is no vaccine that is going to impart long term immunity to all strains that will be encountered.

Really hard winter could make this a difficult winter for those who catch covid. It's mostly your lymph nodes and I am not sure, but maybe your pancras as well which produce your body's T killers cells, but to produce these you body needs to raise your body's temperature. Your T helper cells identify the virus and release an emzime called interlukin 1 alpha. This tells the lymph nodes to produce antibodies based on the instructions transmitted in the interlukin 1 alpha, while at the same time the interlukin 1 alpha also causes your bodies termperature to rise.

This is why you get a temperature, when you get an infection. It is also why doctors tell you to go to bed and keep warm when you get a temperature, to maintain this higher temperature and produce plenty of these antibodies. After the infection is beaten, the T helper cells release interlukin 1 beta, which is another emzine which helps to turn off the lymph cells and everything goes back to normal. The bible says that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. I think that how our imunne system works, proves that this is true!

Unfortunately our imunne systems, don't work as well if we can't keep adequately warm, when fighting a serious infection. So please make sure that you can keep nice a warm, if you are fighting an infection this winter. It not only helps, but it may be particularly important at this time!

Sadly, we already know what will happen.
The only difference this new strain makes, is it moves the goalposts that much closer to the decline of civilization into a mob rule, and total loss of freedom for those who choose not to vaccinate.
Be prepared. Those who enforce the roundup of the unvaccinated will not stop there.

The original problem was that our bodies have never encountered this virus so cannot recognise it to combat it.

er... kinda
In some (not all) cases SARS variants can also cause the immune system to over-react and go into overdrive. This is known as a Cytokine Storm. It's how the original 2003 SARS did so much lung damage.

So the immune system itself does damage trying to root it out. Kinda like trying to catch a neighborhood burglar with Artillery.

"there goes the neighborhood!"

So... we'll have to wait and see how well Omicron plays with

unvaccinated never exposed
unvaccinated but previously exposed
vaccinated never exposed
vaccinated exposed
... and then all the different vaccinated + booster + mixed vax combinations + exposed to what variant previously above...

You want the immune system to react, and react with snipers, not artillery.
So, hopefully that happens for all the groups above.
I have a feeling that of all the groups above, some will perform better than others.
Hopefully, none perform dramatically worse than the others.
We shall see.

The COVID-19 Cytokine Storm; What We Know So Far.

Popcorn, anyone?

It will go one of two ways either there will be too many people unwilling to get vaccinated and a round up will not work OR the pressure will be so great that people will end up taking the vaccine to take part in society. I took the first vaccine, have yet to fully decide if I am willing to take a booster and refuse to take more than one booster (unless we can take them with our annual flu shot which I have taken for years anyway so might as well take the other if that is an option.

Unfortunately the number of cases published are not the full story. Some just think that they have got a cold, of flu and get better without bothering to get tested, but remain infectious while they've got it. Those who don't bother with social distancing and wearing masks are not helping to reduce the rate of spread of this terrible virus. Although this new varient is spreading like crazy, to date there does not appear to be any indication of how deadly this new varient is going to be. It's too soon to know at this time.

Historically really major epidenics tend to burn themselves out in a faily limited period of time. They do a lot of damage while they are around to cause problems, but eventually enough people become immune to the disease and it goes away. In the case of viruses, there may be some varients developing, but it's often been the case that the more transmissible varient tend to become less dangerous and things eventual get back to normal.

Depending upon what you think about what the various experts around the world are thinking. Some are starting to suggest that this current epidenic is perhaps becoming more infectious, but also perhaps less deadly. In the earlier stages there were no vaccines available and it did not matter much who was in government, as without vaccines there could be very little in terms of effective response. Assuming that this epidemic might now be on the way out, what are we expecting after this epidemic is gone?

Yes I think that seems to be the trend. I think it was a lot worse when it broke through in wuhan, but has become more adaptive and less deadly over time. It wants to spread, not necessarily kill. That doesn't mean it can't accidentally turn a bit more deadly since the more it spreads, the more it is rolling random dice, but the best spreaders "win the game" of life, not the best killers.* And we don't panic over the common cold, even though theoretically, one of those could roll the dice the wrong way too.

What you really don't want is something like "very good spreader, not lethal, crippling long term effects". THAT would SUCK.

*Unless you are Smallpox. If you are Smallpox, you are just rude. And that's why we put you in the freezer forever.

Should social groups be meeting at this stage? There seems to be no rule stopping them.
I just wondered. I know some that are meeting weekly and no particular precautions are being taken. I won't go, though I miss all my friends. I just don't think it is safe.
Am I over-cautious or are they not cautious enough?

Vaccinated people die 8 times less often than the unvaxed if they get Covid.
But that's on average. You never know if you'll get lucky or not.

We’ll meet our Maker at the appointed time as we did before it began. There’s nothing we face that isn’t woven in His plan. Some will find sleep and others encounter it at a different point. All will pass away eventually.

Yes indeed. Plenty of reports that most very sick people in hospital are in fact unvaccinated. This is logic. Hospitals are surely not lying. They must try to save all lives and they do a fantastic job. Once you are that ill, it is doctors you must trust.

Yes but no need to hurry it along. By not taking the help available!
