(about baptizing) any pastors here?

Hi there. I posted something similar in the full-time ministry forum, but I thought there might be pastors here who didn't check in there all the time... anyway, I am a presbyterian pastor and I am doing my first two baptisms on Sunday! Twin baby boys. I'm very excited, but also nervous -- I am, after all, a rookie! Anyway, does anyone have any sage words of advice for me?

You know, if anything will teach you the doctrine of grace, serving as a pastor certainly will. I am so overwhelmed right now that I have the privilege of serving in this way, of being a part of what God is doing for His people. It is so tremendously moving to contemplate that not only does God reach out to us with wonderful grace, He also allows us, flawed and messed-up as we are, to participate in His work, even though He clearly doesn't have to let us do anything. I feel like a little kid when Mom or Dad lets you "help" with something. I don't know if that makes sense, but it's this excited, joyful, nervous feeling -- I'm just rejoicing in what God is doing for me.

Thats a good way to feel. ALWAYS feel that way!!!

I would add though that hes not doing it for you, Hes doing it for His glory
