Me and my friend were talking about our views on abortion and even though both of us were against it my friend said if she became pregnant in her situation now (student) she would have an abortion. I argued with her as i just don't get if you are so against something why would you do it. I mean I'm not judging anyone who has has an abortion but for me I just couldn't, I know many people have their different reason for having an abortion.
I just wondered what people thought about my friend's attitude of being against it but she would still have one surely they conflict with each other?
You won't forget...but you don't NEED the constant reminder of having a rape baby around either.. that is just salt in the wound.Adoption is always an option.
Let me just say that I don't want to be accusatory to any woman here who has chosen an abortion. I know its a hard decision to make and mistakes are made. We are all forgiven through Christ.
However, to those to would have an abortion because of rape, will the abortion fix the damage done by the rape? Even if there is no child, are you ever going to forget it happened?

Guess I'll have to kill someone before I know if it's wrong or not. Sorry, it doesn't work that way.I just want to say that abotion i think is something that you cant agree with or dissagree with untill you have been in it.
i think untill you are in the situation of being a pregnant student you have no idea of what will go through your head.
ive been it that situation and i have aways said i dissagree with abortion but when i got pregnant i will be honest and say that i thought about it.
i dont think any one can have an opinion untill they have been in the situation.
A rape is bad but I would think a rape capped off with an abortion would raise the stakes.
Maybe an adoped childs life would be good..who knows. But I would never want to experience the birth of a child that was caused by rape. I wouldnt put myself through 9 months of hell and torment..so for me an abortion would be the way to go.I agree.
Abortion would just add to the trauma.
If a woman could not live with a constant reminder of her rape, or if she could not financially or emotionally support the child, or if she just did not want to, or if all of the above were true, adoption would be the best option for herself and her child.
The horror adoption stories we all hear about the kids that have an "empty space" or who are desperate to find their "real parents" are usually pure fiction. The vast majority of adopted children grow up happy, healthy and well-adjusted with loving adoptive parents. And infants placed for adoption rarely, if ever, end up in foster homes.

From the testimonies I have heard from women who have had abortions, it isn't all candy and gumdrops and it doesn't solve any problems. It creates emotional stress, something that Planned Parenthood would never mention on their website, or ever. You won't forget...but you don't NEED the constant reminder of having a rape baby around either.. that is just salt in the wound.
I agree. Op how old is your sister? Looking back I think I probably felt that way too when I was oh, say 13 or 14 I was at a point in my life for those few years when I was very anti- abortion but when I actually thought about my self getting pregnant (I wasn't sexually active, just thinking about if I god forbid- where raped or something) though I couldn't see any other option. A hypocritical POV no doubt, but I think it's a common one among young teens, especially those who were raised that they should be anti-abortion. I could understand a young teenager feeling this way, but I would expect an adult to look at the issue a little bit deeper. Like I said everyone's at a different place though, we're always growing and changing (Thank God!)to me it shows that she's against it as long as when she has it, it's on her timing, which means, and i hope you encourage her to not do anything stupid because it's a contradiction and borderline selfish attitude to be against something but then be for it because it's not what they are ready for in their life at that time. this is not to show my views about abortion, but it's saying, it's easy to either one keep one's legs closed or two, accept the possible consequences of opening up one's legs and it seems a selfish attitude to be against something but then because one's world would get changed and thrown for a loop, they support something they supposedly hate.

You love yourself more than God then, sorry, but that's the way it is. DO NOT MURDER. Call me legalistic or whatever, but life hangs in the balance here, it's not fair, but hey, we all get screwed over sometimes, you don't have to keep the child.. 9 months is all. You can live 9 months without killing.Maybe an adoped childs life would be good..who knows. But I would never want to experience the birth of a child that was caused by rape. Well sorry you feel that way-maybe if you experienced a rape or someone you loved was raped and knocked up... you MIGHT understand. You love yourself more than God then, sorry, but that's the way it is. Sorry, I try to value commandments over people's wishes. It sucks, but we have to deal. God does not excuse sin because of someone else's sin. Again, I don't have to kill to know whether killing is right or wrong.Well sorry you feel that way-maybe if you experienced a rape or someone you loved was raped and knocked up... you MIGHT understand.
