'Abortion' Googled in more conservative areas

Okay, getting off whether abortion is okay or not (that's a debate for E&M guys, not N&CE!!)...

The day we put any stock into what the masses are googling is the day I hope the Lord comes.

Today I googled "peeling rubber from bottle caps". I have, on several occasions, googled something regarding abortion. Certainly not because I plan on having one!

So yeah...I kinda get the feeling that the OP was no intended really for conversation, but for making some leap of logic that somehow conservatives were looking to get abortions.

So wasn't someone going to produce a SECULAR reason for abortion being banned? I'm sure someone claimed there was one a couple pages back...

A secular reason would hinge on at what point human rights begin. One need not be religious to endear human rights. Hashing out just when that point in development is reached on the other hand is the tough part (I don't have an answer) but in my opinion that much needs to be established.

It is something I struggle with myself.

Regarding the OP, without polling the masses we don't have a clue as to their motivations for searches.

Here's a secular reason: when I was 8 weeks pregnant I knew what I was going to have gender wise.

If abortion is about women's rights, what about the rights of the unborn FEMALE in the womb?

(this is a weak argument to be sure, since obviously only silly people would give rights to one gender but not the other...right?)

That depends who you ask. Men can't "opt out" of parenthood the same way a woman can in choosing an abortion. Men have no choice at all, while the women still do.

Men have rights over their own bodies as well. Nobody can pin you down to have a vasectomy....

I think the question you are trying to raise is whether the blastocyte/fetus has rights. yes?

Right, which was the underlying point I was trying to make.

I find the argument about abortion when it comes to women's right sorely lacking when women have the ability to nail a guy for child support who didn't want to have a kid. Hypocrisy at its finest.

Dad: I want this child!
Mom: I don't wanna be a mom, so I'm going to abort and I don't care what you say. It's MY choice, it's MY body! You don't matter at all!

Dad: I am not ready to be a dad.
Mom: I want to be a mom, but you don't want to be a dad, but I'm going to collect money from you anyway, because you helped get me in this position.
