  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If they are putting up the money for the emergency room, then they have every right for their name to go on it.

Abercrombie also has a childrens line of clothes that is not promoted as the racy adults clothes are. And they are actually rather nice clothes.

Just my two cents... don't hurt me.

Well, if someone in my house gets really sick and needs to go to the ER I will take them to the ER, no matter if it says "A&F" on the walls or not. And I still won't shop there even if my kids said "See, mom! Even at the hospital they have an AF sign!"

This is money going to a good cause, no matter where it came from. I personally don't care for A&F ads myself. But here they are doing something that I think is very good. Soooo, isn't that what we'd like them to do? I don't get the outrage.

I feel that if they put up the money then they should be recognized in some way for it...but I also feel that if you are going to do something good then you should just do it and not expect recognition because then it takes away I think from doing the good deed if you expect recognition or compensation..

I think they should have their name listed if the invested that kind of money.

Would it make me buy their clothes more? No! Even Taylor who is Ms. Name brand has stopped asking to shop there. She realizes on her own now that they are very poor quality.

She has school pants from there that tore less than a month after buying them. She has now decided that pants should come from LTD too better quality.

I find this post quite amusing! You wouldn't get away with that sort of advertising in our hospitals here! Added to that, I actually quite like A&F clothing and wear quite a lot of it myself.

Still, given that that is how the American hospital system is run, I think if a company donates large amounts of money, they deserve the right to advertise.
