A Winter's Night
It was't fit for man or beast
A mighty blizzard paid us a call
And leaving behind
Smooth deep mounds
With sculptured drifts
Reminds me of the desert lands
So bright and clean
It lit the starless night
Untouched showing no trace of path
And a cold northwest wind
Howled through the trees
Only to be muffed
By a blanket of white
No creature is stirring
As the night sleeps
It waits for dawn to give life
And when morning comes
With moans, groans and spinning wheels
A distorted view takes place
And ruins a beautiful sight
