  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

what are red flags to you that ur girlfriend /boyfriend is cheating on you..... name all of them
hmm, I don't know how to answer this one. I have never been in a position to have to worry about it. I think the key is to find someone who would never cheat on you.

In your opinion, what is the most controversial issue in the Bible?
Hmm, this is a tough one. One very controversial issue is the role of women. In some places they have prominent positions and they are supported and in some areas they seem to be placed in non-prominent positions. This is a very controversial issue that is a dividing issue in Christianity. It is also an issue used to keep women down in some parts of society.

Do you believe that water baptism is necessary for salvation? Why or why not?
No I do Not. If one can be baptised I think one should be, but baptism has nothing to do with getting you to heaven. This is an issue where I strongly agree with my denomination. We have three forms of baptism. Obviously full submersion is preferable, but not always available to all. I also believe in sprinkling and partial submersion for people who require it. I am strongly opposed to the idea of which some denominations have in which if you want to be a member of their church you have to be baptised by their denomination even if you have been baptised by another denomination in the past. (This is the practice of multiple denominations - thankfully not the United Methodist Church where we believe that we are NOT the only ones going to heaven and we believe that if you have been saved then you don't have any need to be rebaptised just so you can join our church.)

Which version of the Bible do you prefer to read? Why?
I use the KJV about 75% of the time. It is the version I have grown up with and as a good Anglophile it is the version I feel most comfortable with.

Do you believe in once saved, always saved? Why or why not?
No I do not. People can backslide. Another wonderful part of my denomination. I strongly disagree with churches that believe once in grace always in grace. Thats like giving someone a free pass at life. Christians have responsibilities and duties that they must perform.

Is it correct to say that once we accept Christ into our life we are saved? Answer and then read Matthew 10:22 and give your opinion of the scripture.
Acts 2:38-39 - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptised every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. When Christ comes into our life WE ARE SAVED. For God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son, that whosoever beliefeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. - John 3:16. Matthew 10:22 - And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. - Enduring to the end is not a way to be saved but the evidence that you are really committed to Jesus. Persistence is not a means to earn salvation, but the by-product of a truly devoted life.

I did not mean to imply that simply enduring until the end would ensure salvation. Of course we have to accept Christ into our lives. But, are we technically "saved" before we have endured until the end with Christ? According to your once saved, always saved answer do we not have the chance of backsliding and losing our salvation before the end?

I am saved right now. If I were to die at this very moment, I would go to heaven. If I were not saved right now and died then I would go to Hell. Now is that to say that if I died October 17, 2009 at 8:47:23pm that I would go to heaven? NO, I could do something to lose that grace before then, I could have lost my faith in God and cut off my relationship with God, and not take the necessary steps to get it back. But right now I am covered by God's amazing grace, meaning right now I am saved.

All it takes to be saved is faith. "Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law." - Romans 3:28. Why does God save us by faith alone? Faith Eliminates the pride of human effort because faith is not a work that we do. Faith exalts what God has done, not what people do. Faith admits that we can't keep the Law or measue up to God's standards - we need help. Faith is based on our relationship with God, not our performance for God.

I guess I forgot to explain why I don't think a woman should be the head of a church. There are some passages in the Bible that say a husband of one wife is to be the head of a church. It also talks about a man heading the household. I appologize for not citing here. But I know it talks about this in Timothy and Titus.

I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but even if you are 'saved' right now and you die... You aren't going to Heaven right now. ;)

Well you already know I disagree with you. I think I would go to heaven. Our bodies may stay here, but our souls go on to the be with the Lord.

The soul is physical and it goes back to the dust of the Earth.

Our Spirit goes back to God, but they are at rest. No one is going to make it to Heaven before anyone else, and the judgement has not happened. Flesh and bone cannot enter the Heaven that God is in, and we do not have a spiritual body yet.

How is rest going to make you feel bad? You are not going to be aware of what is going on between the time that you die and judgement day. If the soul is not physical, why is Adam called a "living soul" after God breathed the breath of life into him?

Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Doesn't the word became suggest that he was a dead soul before God breated into him? We do agree that the breath of life is the spirit don't we?

◘ What comes to mind when you think of peace and tranquility?
○ If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
◘ How easily do you cry? Have you ever felt like crying for no apparent reason?
○ Have you ever doubted your capabilities? If so, what did you do to overcome your doubt?
◘ Do you ever find it difficult to truly love your neighbor as yourself? Is it really impossible to love others when you do not love yourself?

When I think of peace and tranquility. I think of being in the woods or in a field out of site of civilization. Just me, God, and nature and of course my cows...lol, maybe the pigs too...I'm getting quite attached to them...lol

If I could change one thing about the world, I would eradicate poverty.

I cry easier than some and harder than others...lol, There are a variety of situations that can bring me to tears. No, there always has to be a reason.

I have doubted my capabilities before. I just have to ask God to give me the strength and wisdom to do what needs to be done.

At times I do find it hard to love my neighbors as myself...especially here at school on a Friday or Saturday night at 3:00 in the morning...lol
I think it would be very difficult to love others if you don't love yourself.
