• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I just borrowed your word. So I will let you answer that question. (but I don't think we are supposed to judge, but we can have our own opinions about the world, but only God can judge it.....I apologize...lol, I was just used "judge" because you did...lol)

This is a perfect example of why I believe in hate crime legislation, why I believe WV should have the death penalty. I will be waiting to see whether the Logan County officials consider this a hate crime, they better.

Matthew 7
15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Do you believe that the above is talking about a time when it is appropriate for us to judge someone else?

No I do not. These are not examples of when it would be ok for us to judge someone else. We can have opinions, but in the above example this is an area where only God can judge. It is not for us to say who is a true Christian and who is not, we obviously may wonder or have ideas of who is and who is not, but we can't pass judgement.

The Holy Spirit of God resides within genuine believers, therefore His presence will result in "the fruit of the Spirit" being displayed in their lives (Gal.5:22-23). And this fruit-bearing is the only visible evidence by which we can discern if someone is truly saved or not. So when a person's walk does not match up with their mouth, we must be very wary of them.

I think it is very dangerous when we truly get into judging other people. We will be judged by the same degree we are judging them. I don't think that Matthew 7 is talking about judging every person you meet, but if you do know someone who is kind of acting odd... Perhaps you should step back and really think about if they are acting in the way you would want for someone you associate with to act. If they aren't... Bring it to their attention. Maybe they did not realize what they were doing. If everything that you tries fails... Perhaps it would be best if you would separate yourself from that person. It doesn't mean that you are saying they are not a true Christian... but you just do not want to be a part of what they are doing.

◘ Do you believe in love at first sight? Have you ever experienced it?
○ How long does it take to be filled with wisdom? Are we born with it or is it acquired?
◘ Is it possible to love purely without expecting anything (even love itself) in return?
○ What if you were a person of pure unconditional love? How would you think, feel, and act, and how different would your life be? How would other people respond to you?
◘ You have a fatal disease and have been given 6 months to live. You are making peace with all the people you’ve wronged in your life. Who is the first person on your list and what would you say to them?

I don't think that I believe in love at first sight, and no I have never experienced it.

Is is a life long process. Every experience whether good or bad, big or little, important or insignificant, adds to our wisdom.

Is it possible to love purely without expecting anything (even love itself) in return?
Yes it is, but it would be very difficult.

What if you were a person of pure unconditional love? How would you think, feel, and act, and how different would your life be? How would other people respond to you?
Wow, if I were a person of unconditional love, I would be like God. I would definitely treat everyone better. I think some people would respond very positively and some would think I was off my rocker...lol

I am not at liberty to say.
