For awhile I have been trying to figure out how to make our faith a more central part of mine and my now fiance's relationship. We are now long distance, so we can't even go to church together anymore. Even when we lived in the same town together, we went to different churches on Sunday morning because we are different denominations, then went to Sunday night worship together at my church.
My latest solution? I needed to get back in the habit of daily devotionals, I haven't been very good about it for a few months. When I started up again a few days ago, I decided that I would find one verse in my reading every night and send it to him in an email. I write what I think is significant about the verse and then how I think it applies or how it can be applied to our relationship. Every morning when he checks him email, he has a new morning message from me with a Bible verse and some words of encouragement. Each day he writes me back with some words of encouragement and what the verse meant to him. I hope this will help us to focus more on God in our relationship and help us both to grow toward who God wants us to be.
