For those of you learning about Bitcoin, let me suggest that you won't really understand Bitcoin until you understand the pros and cons (and risk/lack of risk) of backing up a currency with tangible valuables (formerly gold in the United States). It is a well-studied subject. Remember to be good stewards of what God has given you.
I have Bitcoin thru circle. Straight from the debit card to bitcoins. I think this is the one world currency that the bible warns us about. Could be wrong tho.
I consider bitcoins to be an illegal currency and the designers should be prosecuted for forgery.
No currency should exist without a political state backing it up. (unless it is something with no monetary value like Monopoly money)
Not worthless. They run about $1000.00 each right now.So while I agree generating bitcoins is worthless or even trading with them is worthless

Seems to me that if you want to give to a church, that you would make it easier on them to just convert the Bitcoins you wanted to give them to cash and handing them the cash. It's a bit of an imposition on church folks to force them to learn some new currency system. Don't make them work for it like that. Just give it to them as regular cash.
The OP asks would we tithe with bitcoins. That is a different subject to bitcoins, but there is no limit on giving. The first 10% is a tithe and everything beyond that is a free will offering.
If you do internet banking you are more likely to get into problems than if you use bitcoin. Anyone that has bitcoin should know not to use the computer they use for bitcoin for any other activity on the net. If you have a bitcoin miner you most certainly wouldn't be doing anything else with it.I would suggest to anyone, Do not reveal any information regarding possession of Bitcoin online,,
Let me break this down. Netperson A, Do you have bitcoin.
Netperson B, Why yes,,,
mysterious netperson. Hack, hack, Hack,,
Netperson B , I lost my Bitcoins..
Don't be silly folks. and don't assume that Bitcoins can not be stolen,. They surely can.
I am not directly accusing anyone of being a thief,, However, it's absolutely not wise to reveal financial states online,, On the very pc you most likely used to spend bitcoin.
here is how it should work. Netperson A, Do you have bitcoin.
wiseperson A, ........
Wiseperson A, Is not a target for a possible hack because they wisely did not reveal any information about their financial status.. Wise person A realizes that just because we are at a Christian web site doesn't magically protect us from being hacked...
Oh but bitcoins have 128 bit Aes security, they can not be hacked..
Silly,, silly , silly, silly...
Hi everyone,
I am curious how many of you have heard of bitcoin and how many of you actually have Bitcoins? For those of you that do understand and own Bitcoin, have you ever considered tithing with it?
Would you be against gold and silver too? Bitcoin is legal in most countries including the United States where it is considered a 'commodity' that can be legally bought, sold, and traded. It has about as rational a value as the slips of paper we call dollars.I consider bitcoins to be an illegal currency and the designers should be prosecuted for forgery.

I know of Bitcoin and have a rudimentary grasp on how they work. But what happens if your phone breaks or is stolen, or your computer crashes or gets a virus? I'm not really trusting Bitcoin yet...need more information and more time!Added

Oh no. No it doesn't. The dollars come from identifiable public institutions of a huge superpower. Everybody understands what dollars are and how they work. They're backed by nuclear weapons. Dollars may be imaginary in the absolute sense, but the whole world recognizes them as valuable because of the obvious power and stability of the hyperpower that issues them.
By contrast, Bitcoins are weird, difficult to understand, and come out of a sort of imaginary ether. If a major government were to move in to shut them down, they could be. Not so the United States. They're subject to corruption and other vagaries of the net, and rights are difficult to enforce.
Dollars are more reliable than gold.
