  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

In addition, from the non-believers, what aspects would immediately make them discount playing the game.

I suppose it's like those learning games you have as a child - it it's also a fun game (like Zoombinis) then great.

The problem would be if you started of with the idea of shoving Christianity down peoples throats then chose games as the medium. If you wanted to make a game and happen to decind on christianity then fine!

I think the way to go would be to have a game which alludes to christianity but is not overtly chrisitan, for example something along the lines of Black and White with the player as God but instead of having a creature (who were very annoying anyway and kept on eating people) you can appoint prophets who grow old and die so you need to choose another, and you could have the different prophets speak to the people on different issues, some which are in the Bible and some which have faced people throughout history up to the present day. It could run a bit like the Civ series with different eras and so on plus with a time limit and at the end you get a score and you'll find out if you've created a utopia or a taliban regieme.
