I usually couldn't care less what goes on with this forum. But today we have to deal with the reality of the world situation (which is Christ crucified and those who can't let Him off his cross) and the spiritual realm (which is that of metophorically dealing with spirituality) with all of the spiritual warfare in betwix. including those who claim that their voice is the voice of God.(period)

Small voice trust worthy

Never seen that to be true, I hear a lot of voices - from all over the place - I'm schizo - but found that whatever way the voice, though, conviction comes - small or great, loud, whispers, screams, lightening bolts, loving, demanding whatever - but if it is not in God's loving truth - THE BIBLE SPOKEN IN LOVE for God, self and neighbour - I don't heed it - dangerous material I know for sure!


I do know Jesus though - He is The Living word who speaks in Love for God, myself and my neighbour - right from within me - nothing outside of His Voice of Loving Truth - I will accept any way - no matter how biblical it is - for not just Truth but spoken in The Spirit of Love, but consistant with The Word understood in love is our Lord, we cannot trust no-one else. Christianity has clearly show us what The Word achieves when we understand outside of that criteria.

So if someone says they have no faith in themselves but they do have faith in Jesus - and tell me something - that is confirmed by The Bible, an/or by two or three witnesses as a true event or word - and spoken in love for God and other, then something like this could be established as true - for such is not speculation but could easily be prophecy.

Yes this is also true about our Lord, no must, rule, burn or dos, however this doesn't change the fact the He Is The Living Word spoken in love for God, self and neighbour. We simply can't trust no one to say it rightly.

I saw the "still small voice" mentioned in the title, and thought of the last verse of my favourite hymn (Dear Lord and Father of Mankind)

"Breathe through the heats of our desire
Thy coolness and Thy balm;
Let sense be dumb, let flesh retire;
Speak through the earthquake, wind, and fire,
O still, small voice of calm."

It's a reference to 1 Kings 19:11-13

"So He said, "Go forth and stand on the mountain before the LORD " And behold, the LORD was passing by! And a great and strong wind was rending the mountains and breaking in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of a gentle blowing. When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave And behold, a voice came to him and said, "What are you doing here, Elijah?""

Absolutely TRUE - God's Voice is The Gentle Voice of His Loving Truth, bringing Peace and Rest to those who hear Him!

His Voice you would agree however, speaks The Truth of God in Love, His Voice is not influenced by itchy ears , those - unfaithful - selfish - greedy - lustful - untruthful - idol worshipping - times of the heart - we sinners so often harbour within.

Rather such inner voices burn/hinder/oppose/hate/despise/kill/imprison/reject/scorn/solely for self - the gently Truth Loving Voice of our Master!

So the truth that we must be in submission to Christ within to be able to hear Him Rightly, rather than heed a small voice within, as was assured by the original poster, still stands firmly as well.

Puts an interesting angle on "For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified," doesn't it? (1 Cor 2:2)
