In this dream, there was a small yellow fish in my house, not in a tank as one would expect but swimming in air above a glass plate, in the middle of my living room floor. It seemed perfectly happy... however, after a while it must have realised that it wasn't swimming in water because it flapped about and went behind my DVD player and started dying and shrinking and turning from the yellow colour it was, to a sort of mouldy green. I picked it up, and rushed to my kitchen and put it in a tub of water and gave it a mini respirator (Lol!) while all the time shouting breathe darn it!, after a while the fish went back to being the way it had been and it was healthy again.
Any thoughts?
What does yellow represent to you?
Otherwise, as for 'swimming in the air', the word "spirit" in both Greek and Hebrew means "wind". So no wonder we see verses like "we find a spiritual battle... against powers of the air", or "I will spit you out of my mouth".
The sea, from Scripture, represents that which is beneath the earth. For instance, Jesus said, "I will make you fishers of men". And the Leviathan, the Devil, is described as a 'sea monster'.
On the fifth day we see God created the "birds of the air" and "creatures of the sea", symbolically that speaks of the angels: those of Light, the birds, and those of the Abyss or darkness, the Devil and his messengers.
However, fish do not by any means represent just the angels of darkness and I do not think that means it there. Otherwise, why would Jesus say, 'fishers of men'. What Christians do, symbolically, is bring up people who are dead, not alive, and give them eternal life through Jesus Christ.
What your dream speaks of, therefore is someone whom you find "out of water", and you help them out and save them.
Remember the phrase: 'a fish out of water'.
So it sounds like you see 'a fish out of water' and it loses faith, begins to die, and you help it live.
I hope that is what it means: water can also represent the spiritual water which flows from Jesus giving eternal life.
