  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A simple question.

Since a lot of people here think that homosexuality is a choice i would like to ask a question to those who think that you can pick and choose who you are attracted to.Now this is completely hypothetical. If the bible condoned homosexuality would you choose to be gay or bi. Why or why not.

You pick and choose according to what your natural desire wants but it doesn't always mean it is right in God's eyes. Sometimes it can be a deception and not able to see what is beyond the appearance or feelings.

It will never be that 'IF' the bible condoned homosexuality. Even if , and if the bible condone homosexuality, it is not the bible at all, but some other counterfeit 'bibles'.

Sodom and Gomorrah was one great example of people who pratised homosexual lifestyles and other strange sexual relationships and their end was destruction. Although we see no fire and brimstones now towards the homosexaul lifestyle, consider it God's mercy, wanting them to repent, before His wrath comes upon them. Romans 1 says it all, but people will still go ahead with homosexuality and not accept what God has said. It's too painful for them to give up their homosexuality.

Vs 24, God gave them up in their lusts of their hearts to impurity...
vs 26, God gave them up to dishonourable passions.
Vs. 28, God gave them up to a base mind......

You can also ask that Arch bishop, Gene Robinson. He will be glad to answer that the bible condoned homosexuality.

Neat technique precious stone; it takes talent to completely ignore the original post and go off on a distantly-related tangent.

I'm not sure about other non-straight people here at CF, but I really enjoy other christians getting worked up and accusing me of not being a True Christian. By True Christian I actually mean having an extremist and questionable interpretation of the bible along with an unhealthy obsession with sexuality and generous dose of persecution complex. I enjoy them damning me to hell and then riding off into the sunset with Jesus, who oddly shares the exact same beliefs as they do.

I also enjoy christians in the political process who don't think I deserve the same rights as everyone else and go to efforts to ensure that I never will. I enjoy how youth similar to me are kicked out of their so-called christian families because of who they're attracted to. I enjoy how christians go out of their way to condemn me while conveniently ignoring other more important problems which Jesus actually taught about--things like pride, selfishness, etc.

I don't know. I guess we choose to be gay/bi because we like being castigated by members of our own religion.

Invisible trousers, what I've written is the root problem of mankind and people do not see it. They think there is nothing to do with God and that we can ignore God's words.

You yourself are completely off the original post too.

Maybe you can share more with what Jesus actually taught about--things like pride, selfishness and etc. It'll be nice to go off the original post and concentrate on Jesus and from here, we can get the answers to the hypothetical question which in the end would probably stays hypothetical that leads to nowhere.

The simple answer ;): I don't think it's a choice to be attracted to the same sex or to the opposite sex. But obviously it's a choice whether to act on one's attraction.
