• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I usually have mine on...but in hibernate mode.

I have my anti-virus & spyware programs scan through the middle of the night because I have dial up so if I'm on the computer when these programs run it makes it go even more slow. When my computer is off those programs won't run but will in hibernate mode.

My computer is a little bit knackered at the moment. I think that the graphics card has had it. It keeps flickering on and off without losing power. When I switch my computer on it happens more when it is warming up. Once the computer is warmed up it then doesn't do it so much. So, I keep my computer on most of the time so I don't have to go through all this too often. However, it does get to a point then when I can't do anything and I have to switch it off. Either that, or it switches itself off.

Does this make sense?!?!

Yes, what you say makes sense... wish I had some knowledge to help you in that area! We had a computer that's monitor would flicker alot, in that case we got a new monitor and it was fine.

I have experienced that feeling before... LOL!
I had a Norton Antivirus/System works error message come up saying I needed to uninstall Norton... do some stuff and then reinstall it! I did not install my Norton and so needless to say I felt a bit overwhelmed with the prospect of doing that. Instead I kept posting on here and then decided I needed to deal with it. I closed everything out, clicked on my xed out Norton icons and a thing came up saying there were trouble areas and did I want to fix it...clicked yes and then another came up for about five times and after I clicked to fix each one of those, it was back up and running. I said thank you Jesus!
