Psalm 22:30 A seed shall serve him;
it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
Chosen by Grace to Serve His Purpose
1 Peter 2:
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him;
Isaiah 53:10 He has put Him to grief.
When You make His soul an offering for sin,
He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days,
And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.
The Chosen, or Elect, are Abraham's Seed
Galatians 3:
16 Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ.
29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed,
and heirs according to the promise.
The Remnant of Israel, Jews among the Elect. The rest
were blinded to fulfill the Scriptures.
Romans 11:5 Even so then, at this present time
there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
The church as established in the first century
consisted of "a remnant" of natural Israel, and
elect Gentiles to establish "the election of grace."
A thorough comprehension of Romans 9-11 reveals
that Paul uses Israel to refer to natural Israel,
while earlier in chapter 2, describes a "spiritual Jew"
based on a circumcision of the heart.
Romans 2:
28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is
circumcision that which is outward in the flesh;
29 but is a Jew who inwardly; and circumcision
of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter;
whose praise is not from men but from God.
For this to remain true for today depends on where this stands:
Romans 11:25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.
The Church is never referred to as Jacob
Isaiah 10:
20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
21 The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.
22 For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall
overflow with righteousness.
The Church of the Elect is never referred to as a Remnant.
The Remnant of Israel are Jews chosen by Grace to serve
Christ among the Gentiles.
In Christ, there is neither Jew nor Gentile.
Just because there is no longer a Levitical Law needed
for dealing with sin, God has not broken His covenant
made at Horeb. This is suspended during the covenant
of election by grace.
That is the meaning of "until the fullness has come in";
Romans 11:
26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:
The Deliverer will come out of Zion,
And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
27 For this is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sins.
28 Concerning the gospel are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election beloved for the sake of the fathers.
29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
The Election in Christ are established to serve Christ in His
kingdom as shepherds of His Father's Flock.
The Law and the Prophets identify them as the poor, the
afflicted, the oppressed widows and orphans.
Zephaniah 3:
11 In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.
12 I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the Lord.
13 The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies;
neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth:
for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
He will take away all that offends first
the proud and haughty people.(v.11),
Who makes up the remnant?
The poor and the afflicted. (v.12)
These are the remnant. (v.13)
Over and over throughout the Law and the prophets.
The Remnant, according to the election of Grace,
are the small number of Jews who received Christ.
The elect from the nations are NEVER referred to
as a remnant. That is because a great multitude
of people of every nation comes out of the Great
Tribulation, for they have been oppressed and
afflicted by a minority of haughty and cruel people.
ALL who call on the name of the Lord during this
time will be saved. (Joel 2).
When the fullness of the Gentiles have come in does
not mean no more will be saved. It means no more
will be among the elect, who reign with Christ in His
Kingdom. We will shepherd His Father's special people,
the afflicted, the oppressed, the downtrodden, the
orphan and the widow. This is the testimony over and
over in the Law and the prophets.
Not the modern evangelical message that only people
that receive the Gospel they have been presenting will be saved. Church growth strategy is not the Gospel. The sinners prayer,
then waiting to die and go to heaven is not the Gospel.
True religion is to show mercy to the Father's children.
How many Jews do you think will qualify, having suffered from
violent oppression by the end of the age? How many Gentiles? Multitudes! Only an unholy remnant of cruel and violent
oppressors will be destroyed.
30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
31 Even so have these also now not believed, that
through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
The pressing question based on verse 31:
Have the Gentiles been faithful in providing
mercy for Jacob?
it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
