• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A Scenario to Ponder?

You have a small child that has wandered far from home and every single law enforcement organization and "amber alert" available to you has been exhausted to find your child. You have prayed, and had friends search far and wide with you. The only option you have not used yet is a psychic.
Would you use one? Would God forgive you if you did?

>>Why go to a psychic when you can go to a prophet. Your child shall be safely returned in your hands or in Gods hands.

I like your way of handling this scenario, but lets say that the person already feels let down by the "prophet" who "allowed" (not caused) the child to go missing in the first place?

I pray this remains a theory for all of us online!!!

My personal response: No, I would not for 2 reasons:

1. Objectve side - according to statistics exceptionally poor results for police ever being helped by spiritists/psychics etc. Therefore for you would give false hope, waste your money, potentially give false leads and waste genuine investigators' precious time etc.

2. Christian side - God warns very clearly against any use of the occult and/or being close to anyone (spiritually, not physically!) involved in the occult. See Old Testament God's commandment for Jews Deuteronomy 18:9-14 , as well as commandments for christians in New Testament 2 corinthians 6:14-18.

I would not wanting to get information from my enemy who Jesus warns us about (see John 8:44) no matter how much I was reassured I would be hearing the truth this one time.

Maybe God allowed the child to go missing as a test to see if you trusted Him enough to ask Him for help or ask the "prophet ".
God may allow things to happen so you can grow into His plan for you.

There are too many fake psychics out there. Even the famous ones make way too mistakes and false readings. It's not worth the hype.

Yes, God would forgive someone for wanting to use a psychic.

I would not go to psychic I believe that most are fakes and the ones that are real are demonic inspired. The bible only speaks of psychics as bad news and not something to mess with talking to the dead and all of that is bad and is not of God ever under any situation. I would use prayer and the lord and volunteers to search for my child. Often times with these things it only takes opening the door once and you can get something attached to you especially as a Christian.
