A recent dream

My family & I moved to a new house last month. We're loving it so far but on 2 different occasions, we've had someone knock on our door past midnight. The second time it happened a few nights ago, we decided to call the police just in case they were around somewhere. They came & checked for us, & there was no sign of anyone.

I put it out of my mind both times that it happened, but last night I had a nightmare about it. It was about a guy in a red t-shirt with a screwdriver trying to get in from the front door. I haven't had a nightmare in months, so it honestly scared me when it happened. I wanted to calm down by doing some Bible reading, so I decided to read Matthew 24 (I've taken an interest in biblical prophecy). I was reading through, & I was shocked to see verse 43 which was said by Jesus Christ:

But understand this: If the owner of a house had known when the robber was coming, he would have watched. He would not have allowed his house to have been broken into. (KJV)

I just don't know what to make of it, if anything at all. I 100% could be crazy about this happening, & I'm open to that possibility. I'm just looking for any kind of clarity on this.

You might want to invest in a security camera, connect it to USB or something or the cloud, and see who knocked on your door. This might be a bad neighborhood for you, but I am not a house buying expert.

Thank you for your reply my mom is making sure we have everything in order security-wise, & we've been triple checking the doors at night to make sure they're locked. Besides this happening a couple of times, the neighborhood is really quiet.

Also just wanted to say, your Spike profile picture reminds me that I need to finish Cowboy Bebop.

You are welcome. It is good that you guys are vigilant when it comes to security.

And yes, Cowboy Bebop is a good anime. It is only 26 episodes long, so it is a quick one. Watched it in the second half of 2023 on DVD, cos my local library has free DVD loans.

I think robbers do this at time to see if anyone home ... But onto the dream.

Maybe God is trying to warn you about someone looking to force their way inside your heart, or the heart you and your family share for each other.

The red t-shirt may speak of anger or zeal.

We know Jesus knocks on the door of our heart. He doesn't try and force his way in and neither should another.

Could even be someone that is trying to convince you of something and force the issue. We shouldn't force ourselves on others, just speak the truth in love and let the Holy Spirit work.

I think the knocking could have a direct spiritual meaning. Given the late time and two separate occasions it is entirely possible that angels, or demons are knocking on the door. I once knew a person who had pretty consistent demonic knocking on their window until they got deliverance prayer for that.

I missed the part about the man with the screwdriver. This commentary seems clear that it is not a case of evil.
"The significance of the parable is easy to see. The householder is the disciple of Christ, the thief is Christ himself, who comes on the unwatchful when and where they expect him not. It is, indeed, a strange comparison, but one calculated to alarm the unwary, and to show the necessity of the caution enjoined. Similar warnings are found elsewhere; e.g. 1 Thessalonians 5:2, 4; 2 Peter 3:10; Revelation 3:3; Revelation 16:15. The exposition which regards the thief as the devil is not so suitable to the context. Matthew 24:43" Pulpit commentary Matthew 24:43 Commentaries: "But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

In your case it seems like it could be a manifestation from God via an angel. Given that you got a scripture right there, at the right time, it is a sign of His coming? There are quite of few people that have gotten signs about the end is near and they are not crazy either. I would go to extreme lengths to make sure that everyone in your house is good to go with God. I would spread it further to other people too to know that God is readying the end times. I appreciate you putting it in here to remind us all.

I want you to be safe, but note it was the third time that Samuel got called for a message from God that he finally heard it. (He had help from Eli) Will jesus be the third knock himself or does he have more of a message to give to you? Just saying, but if not the message you have already, as it sits it really could be God sent.

Definitely take this seriously as the Lord appears to be giving you a revelation through his word. A dog is also good for security and companionship in general.
