A Reasoned Case Against Impeachment

From the Mueller Report investigation, the Democrats took White House counsel McGhan to court - that process has taken months so far....and is now under appeal. Trump knows very well that he can run out the clock on the court cases. Pelosi knows this as well. Ironically, Trump is all for accelerating the process...apparently both Trump and Pelosi are seeking to have this process rapped up in January.....

IMO, there should be a process whereby the House can take cases such as this directly to the Supreme Court for a more timely decision.

So, sounds as if this comment is a vote for 'close enough' for impeachment. Thank goodness for the rest of us that the court system does not work on such a system.
Wonder if the dems thought playing brinkmanship would work in their favor?

When I read the phone summary of that July phone call and all the supporting testimony of the non-partisan witnesses over the last month, there is no doubt there is more than "enough" to impeach the President.

...unless of course, you subscribe to the notion they have to a tape recording of the President ordering Guiliani to dig up dirt on the Bidens. On that note, I suppose they could ask Putin for the tapes -- but I doubt he would comply given the unprecedented success the Russian state has achieved to date.

Your smile emojies indicate that you think that the officers of the court can't be unbiased in their service in our court system. They MUST be biased and untrustworthy. But would you be less sarcastic if he were a Republic? I don't think so seeing Mueller, who was a Republican, was disparaged, by Trump supporters, too.

You'd probably be surprised at the comaraderie between the justices on the Supreme Court, it wouldn't please the partisans among us.

It's a complete waste of time and money when you know that any lower court decision will be appealed.
In this case I doubt Trump's team are hoping they might win in the courts, they know their game is just to play out the clock.

The impeachment inquiry is right by the Constitution. Impeachment is ultimately a check on the power of the Executive branch. The power was intentionally given to the Congress, not the courts.

I am quite aware of that....but the reasons for the impeachment are wrong. To proceed this route without substantiated evidence is simply wrong and lowers the bar to a level that the democrats are going to come to regret one day. Ask Schumer about the 'nuclear option' he went to even against McConnell's strong protest.
