The correct expression would be "When you die, you can't care about your family dieing"

There would be no choice for you to make, you would lack the ability to care or not to care.

Is this actually going anywhere? Yes, I will be dead, but my children will (using your OP as a hypothetical) still be alive.

Are you actually planning on going anywhere with your OP and your rather odd posts in between responses, none of which you have actually replied to?

*sigh* I will ask once again, is there a purpose behind this thread? Are you trying to prove something? Anything?

I am quite happy to expand on my first response if I have even the faintest idea as to why you wish to discuss this matter, but so far, you have shown no willingness to discuss. Or actually even make a whole lot of sense.

I have a point, yes. If you are dead, you will not be able to care about your family dieing, you couldn't give a **** actually. So why push the button? The life will continue if you do, but if it doesn't consern you, why care?

Did you even read my two posts? My children do concern me. I will spell it out specifically:

My children are more important to me than my personal life. I am going to die one day anyway, and I will be dead forever.

Since I was half resposible for bringing these three people into the world I have an obligation to them to protect them however I can. If I need to "push the button" to do it, I will.

Drop the tone. You didn't answer my question. Or you didn't understand it

What part of your question didn't I answer? Please be specific in light of what is set out below.

You made one comment and then asked two questions:

Your comment was "If you are dead, you will not be able to care about your family dieing, you couldn't give a **** actually."

I replied "I will be dead forever". Since this was only a comment of yours, and not a question, no further reply was necessary.

You then asked: So why push the button?

I replied: "Since I was half resposible for bringing these three people into the world I have an obligation to them to protect them however I can."

You asked: The life will continue if you do, but if it doesn't consern you, why care?"

I replied "My children do concern me".

So, i repeat, what part of your post did I not respond to?

You don't get it. How can your children consern you when you are dead?

One more time, while I am alive, I will do what I can for ny children. Once I am dead, I am dead. Nothing will concern me then, not even the universe dying a heat death a few billion or so years from now. So what!

I get what you are trying to say, I am still wondering why you are saying it, and have already asked, but got nothing but static.

Are you suggesting that we should all be nihilists? Seriously, what's your point?

It concerns you at the the time of consideration.

Im not an atheist so I know this does not apply to me, but even when I was one I would not have risked my families lives in this way just incase there was an afterlife, we all belive different things but would anyone actually take the risk? I mean no one knows for cirtain.

Exactly what Im talking about. Just how strong your belief is that there is no God (some atheist would almost kill for it :p) it would be stupid not to push this button.

Mortensen, your original post said that pushing the button would save your loved ones, now you are saying your "belovings would die at the same time as you will die" Are you now saying that pushing the button won't save your loved ones?

Which is it? It does change the premise completely.

Norm

Im talking of if you didn't push it.

So, if I don't push it we will all die, but if I do push it, only I will die and my kids will survive?

OK, same decision applies, I would definately push it for the reasons I have already given.

I still have to ask is this going anywhere as a discussion? What are you really trying to establish from the answers you get?
