  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Of course not everyone makes it into Heaven. What would Jesus have died for if not for our sins? And aren't our sins what prevent us from getting into Heaven? I just don't see how someone can call themselves a Christian, yet disbelieve in such an integral part of the Bible.

Matthew 4:4. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

John 17:17. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Isaiah was not speaking to us in those texts, thank you! He was no more than a recording secretary taking dictation from his Boss! God is speaking to us in the First Person! This is not second-hand hear-say. Like I said, some of you do not know your own Father!

Malachi 3:6. For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. 17. And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

Jesus told you in the New Testament by whose Word men do live! I suggest that you discover you Father's voice and hear Him!

Psalm 31:19. Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!

You cannot master the Father and gainsay Him using His BOOK! He wrote it! :amen:

The blood of Christ will wash away even the worst of our sins, :

Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."

Remember the thief crucified next to Jesus, who asks to be remembered when Christ comes into his Kingdom ? Jesus replies, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise. (Luke 23:43).

Yes, but GoodNewsInc is trying to say that even non-Christians go to Heaven. Do you believe that as well? If so, then where's the scriptural proof of that?

What is the point that your trying to make? The one thief humbled himself before death while the other still mocked God. The ones who went to work in the vineyard recieved the same wage (eternal life- God's only offer He holds out to humanity ) Do you think that if they didn't accept the job they recieved the same wage as those who worked an hour? The ones who worked a full day were upset but they had agreed on that wage, and the employer was good to also give to the ones who worked less, but I also don't read it as given to those who work not at all. Grace is grace but it's based on remission of sins. A pardon is not a pardon if it's not accepted as such.. and the analogies go on... but your analogy holds no water.

Goodnews,

don't you really think that these "ALL" scriptures are to be taken, in context, with the rest of scripture that peremtorily (sp?) declares wrath? Take, for example, the scripture about the city in Revelation, those who are inside, and those who are out. Where do you put that in your doctrine? How does it fit? It doesn't make sense with what you're saying at all.

And it makes no sense whatsoever that Jesus would teach about doing the Father's will, entry into heaven, and the refusal of those who say 'Lord Lord' if everyone does his will. No one resists His will, true, but God isn't talking about that. He's speaking of those who voluntarily involve themselves, knowingly engage themselves, in His plan, vs those who are simply slaves. They're different things John. Totally. The teaching is nonsense if that's not the case, and significant portions of new testament teaching makes no sense; because the outcome and everything is inevitable, and it's positive, no matter what you know or do. Why would they be teaching these things, if the things you are saying is true? They simply don't jive. The simplest, first step logical outcome of universalism is that effort, choice, and indeed all the expenditure of life, is meaningless in the grand scheme. Life becomes so terribly drab in light of that. Life, for me, has to be real! The more I see these things, the more it seems like scripture is pointing toward a gospel of safety in Christ.

Also, although I don't like simply knocking down arguments (it seems so see-saw-like and pointless), most of the scriptures you present refer to

Jacob, the servant of God;
Those that fear God;
Those that love God;
Those that serve God;

and without a basic knowledge of God, you can't do any of these things. And we all know that outside the Lordship of Christ in a human life, there is no knowledge of God.

We have a special teaching in the New Testament that most clearly declares the ENTIRE SALVATION of Israel, but we ain't given anything that regards the salvation of the whole world, outside Israel. (As a side note, if universalism were actually true, then speaking about the salvation of all Israel would be totally redundant, and already understood) And if this universalism really were the case, John, wouldn't it be a central tennant of Christianity? I mean seriously, if this universalism stuff really were legit, and of God, then I think there'd be a more clear show of it in the gospels and in the letters; I would've thought that it would be taught universally! Instead of "Repent and be baptized" Peter should've preached "Christ has died, let all men know that God loves them, and that they will one day be with Him in glorious unity!" I don't think it's preached, because I don't think it's God's message. I think what they preached is the actual message: "Repent, and be baptized everyone of you...save yourselves from this untoward generation." Instead, they focus on other stuff that seems quite contrary to universalism, do they not?? I think Jesus would probably have said 'all men will one day be united in worship to God, and live forever' or something. Or at least a parable that speaks about 'every man' or 'all men' where the actual point of the parable is to emphasize the 'allness' of the salvation of Christ. You'd think there'd be SOMETHING that's atleast reasonably clear. But the teaching and preaching in the New Testament has an entirely different focus, of exlusive salvation in the Name and Lordship of Christ. Hence the urgency behind the gospel.

You are a young-blood and you have a lot to learn!

Isaiah 53:1. Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? 2. For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Romans 5:6. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 3:21. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22. Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24. Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

John 1:29. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

John 12:32. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

John 10:28. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 30. I and my Father are one.

Do you feel qualified to correct Jesus about who he can save and who he cannot save?

1 Timothy 4:9. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. 10. For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
11. These things command and teach.

1 John 4:14. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

1 Tim 4:9 This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance 10(and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.

My dad said once that Christ is the door, no matter who walks through. But He is especially the door to those that use it. He is the door in experience as well as in theory. Those who don't walk through never actually experience the door in it's fulness; they simply recognize the door, they don't exercise it's function.

I think there may be another explanation too. God is the saviour of all men. In other words, every facet of being 'saved' (example: protected in a car accident) is performed by God himself. The believer, however, experiences a dimension of salvation that isn't touched by those who don't believe. Which is why they are especially saved by Him, since they experience that salvation in fullness. The others only experience it in the dimension to which they permit Him to operate, and since they never permit Him in their soul, they are left to their own devices.

Again, this is just an idea...

Jesus said," For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those that find it."
The words of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:14).
The Lord Jesus repeatedly declared in the gospels that few people find the narrow road that leads to life. Many people believe that they are traveling on that narrow road, but Christ said that vast numbers would be deceived, Not every one who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophecy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you, Depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness. (Matthew 7:21).

Jesus is saying here that "not everyone will enter the kingdom of heaven."
I trust His words. I did not choose Him, He chose me and appointed me to belong to Him. He alone chooses. Romans 9 makes it clear that He chooses that His choice in election might stand. If everyone is saved and no one enters condemnation, then the Antichrist and false prophet will also be saved. Revelation makes it clear that these two men, whom satan will use during the Tribulation, will be cast into the lake of fire, where they will be tormented forever and ever.

I am new to this thread, but when I read these things about "all men being saved", I felt compelled by the Lord to contribute.
Blessings to all.

________________________________________________________________________
Hey John,

Will Judas Iscariot, Adolf Hitler, Jeffrey Dahmer, Ghengis Khan and Nero be in heaven?
________________________________________________________________________

The Supreme Judge who does not lie says this:

Isaiah 2:1. The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2. And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. 3. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

Isaiah 25:6. And in this mountain shall the Lord of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. 7. And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. 8. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.

Isaiah 57:16. For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made. 17. For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart. 18. I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners. 19. I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the Lord; and I will heal him.

Isaiah 66:18. For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory. 21. And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the Lord. 22. For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. 23. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.

4. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

John 12:32. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

John 5:25. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. 28. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

John 10:28. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Hosea 13:14. I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.

Revelation 1:18. I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Revelation 9:6. And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

Revelation 6:9. And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the (Heavenly ) altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11. And white robes (Revelation 19:8, Romans 5:15-21) were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Revelation 5:9. And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10. And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
13. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

Romans 14:4. Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. 7. For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. 8. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. 9. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. 10. But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand (not perish) before the judgment seat of Christ. 11. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. 13. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

What are those scriptures saying to you? I wrote none of those scriptures! God did it through those writers a couple of thousand years ago! Blesses are all those wuth seeing eyes, hearing ears and minds that understand! They shall know the loving kindness of the of our Creator-Father! If you have the mean spirit and mad mind of a bitter "elder son", you will feel like those scriptures are a pot of boiling oil thrown at you from your computer screen!

Who are "the wicked"? Devils have taught men that term refers to humans they enslave! That lie is BS! Human slaves are called "prodigals children" by the Spirit. You NEED a revelation to understand spiritual language! Look at this:

2 Thessalonians 2:3. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4. Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6. And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9. Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

You need a "revelation" of this "mystery" because devils have persuaded men that the word refers to captive humans they enslave.

"The Wicked" is Satan and his family of demons!

God has a message for lying spirits who speak through money-grubbing hireling preachers!

Psalm 50:16. But unto the wicked (kingdom of devils) God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth? (2 Corinthians 11:13-15) 17. Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee. 18. When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers. 19. Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit. 20. Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son. 21. These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order (both humans and His Words) before thine eyes.

Luke 4:16. And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. 17. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives (humans), and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19. To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

ummm, well actually people are wicked as these scriptures for instance point out:

Gen 6:5 The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.

Gen 13:13 Now the men of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the LORD.

You know only about the one you can see. What do you know about "that man of sin" who is invisible to you?

Malachi 3:6. For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. 17. And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. 18. Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.
