  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I was wondering don’t you think that by calling yourselves “Conservative Christians”, only by that, you legitimize the existence of an opposite, “liberal”, trend? With all due respect, but how can someone be liberal and Christian at the same time? It’s like arguing that although someone leads a sinful (liberal) life claims to follow Jesus’ teaching?

Personally...I don't "call" myself a "Conservative" Christian. I am however, a Christian, meaning I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and submit my life to Him...as led by the Holy Spirit....we continue to grow and mature and learn as we set our hearts and minds in the Spirit toward the instruction, precepts and concepts of God's word in Scripture...

My standards, morals and values are conservative (traditional/orthodox) and I simply like participating in this particular forum.

I do not consider what I believe or how I live substantiates or unsubstantiates anyone...I do not see how my life or my beliefs validates or invalidates anyone else. That is between each individual and God.

I think we run into really big problems when we measure ourselves to other people or visa versa...the only thing...IMHO...we should measure ourselves to is Christ Jesus and how our beliefs line up with Scripture.

I don't especially call myself one. I just say I'm a Christ-follower. But I am a member of this forum. I didn't choose the name of it.

However, I disagree that liberal Christians don't exist. It is possible to be both liberal and adequately orthodox (small-"o"), depending of course on just exactly what one means by liberal.

This is almost equivalent to saying that becuz righteousness is true,
that evil has to be present.
God existed long before evil came along.

And doing good or being good doesn't legitimize evil rearing
its ugly head.

While I share your sentiments on liberalism and the source of it,
I just can't agree that we legitimize the opposite by existing to be.
Rebellion comes in MANY forms, and all those forms oppose
God's truth and what is righteous.

Good post...

IMHO...the more the world moves into liberalism and further away from conservative standards...the worse things get from a Godly perspective.

However...it's expected...God isn't going to pour out His wrath on the world because people maintained HIS standards.

And the world will hate believers more and more because we uphold God's standards above the world's standards.

I call myself a conservative christian to distinguish myself from those who dare to call themselves other wise. I don't think liberals are saved or even Christians but I know that they use the label.

As the bible says there will be sheep in wolves clothing? It's nice to try to distinguish the sheep and the wolves.

What I do consider fuels radical liberals and in their eyes validates their stance...is the hateful and condemning way some conservatives lash out at them and judge all liberals as individuals. ...way to reach the lost RC...

While yes it's important to discern the sheep from the wolves...Perhaps that whole love the sinner hate the sin...and taking into consideration the enemy has deceived some and is in the process of devouring them from the inside out...might be a thought to consider.

It's all well and good to speak out boldly against such agendas and actions...however, we might also want to consider...the reason any of us are still here...to speak the truth and to be about our Father's Kingdom business...and what is our position in His Kingdom business pray tell?

Could it be to share the truth in love?

We can rebuke the lie...absolutely...but who is it that is the real liar...the father of all lies perhaps...seeking whom he can devour and destroy? Who is the real enemy...the lost and deceived...or the great deceiver?

When I saw your post I wondered...what did the early believers think of Paul when he was Saul...going about persecuting Christians? I'm sure they didn't think too highly of him...and Jesus Christ stepped in and Saul of Tarsus became the Apostle Paul, who wrote 2/3rds of the NT and established how many churches?

I would be very, very careful...judging anyone with a heart of condemnation.

Mat 7:2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.

Should we have no compassion for the lost and deceived RC?

Jas 2:12 So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.
Jas 2:13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

I do agree with you on one point though...I too get quite discouraged when people call themselves Christian...and yet behave in a manner that bears little or no witness to the love, grace and mercy of Christ Jesus and the concepts and precepts established in the word of God.
