I have to admit, if the people on this thread and on this subforum are going to keep using blatant circular reasoning like this, I'm going to lose my patience. Perhaps this subtitle of this subforum should be "A forum for atheists to blatantly assume their philosophy and epistemology".

I will point out, once again, that the problem with the 'supernatural' is not that it doesn't stand up to empirical scrutiny. The problem is that the 'supernatural' is an ontologically and epistemologically vacuous non-concept altogether. That is why it is dismissed out of hand.

Are you sure you're not a van Tillian? Because you argue exactly like one - aiming for internal critique and missing spectacularly.

If you were convinced that God exists, how would your attitude towards miracles (be it the Resurrection of Christ, or other miracles, like Marian apparitions, charismatic gifts, etc) change?

I would realize that the Muslims had it right, and join Islam.

Well, computers/GPSs would be naturally impossible in the sense that the laws of nature alone could not make them.

The laws of nature are a descriptive framework invented by humans to make predictions about future events. They don't make anything, so I'm not sure why you find it surprising that they don't make a particular few things.

Or are you saying that human activity is somehow distinct from other natural processes?

:D

I could say the same about the General Theology board for Christians, expecially when Catholics and Protestants disagree...

No, you want Evangelicals, Baptists, and Catholics in the same thread. That is, if you want to see the Christian army attack its own. Personally though, I find those sorts of clashes annoying.

I find them rather entertaining and sometimes, even edifying.

If it wasn't for that, CF would be pretty boring, in which case I would go over to the CARM forum where the mud is knee deep.

I guess I find intelligent conversation more entertaining than dramatic heated arguments about who is the most devout. Not that the latter isn't entertaining in its own right, but it gets old.
